  1. Well ok. I've learnt my lesson. I struggled with lack of water in the arenas. At 45 years old I came, on my own, to my first 'camping' festival. I had major surgery last year and this was supposed to be life affirming for me. By 15:00 Friday I felt in hell. I did enjoy Thursday night. I really do not feel it was good value for money. £500 it cost me and i don't drink alcohol. good night
  2. No Free Water at any of the festival areas apart from at the main entrance and on the campsites, except where it was blocked off by non pre pitched tents in the in the kip and go area. Far too crowded, food and drink too expensive. No available shaded area. Really poor for the day time, but Thursday night was really good from sundown onwards. I think, with the lack of free water available, they are asking for a dehydration fatality which will raise a lot of media attention and probably make it the last IOW festival. I really expect Live Nation and John Giddings to have been a little more mindful of this, but I guess the festival £Pound counts for more thought processes than human life.

I had a kip and go 2 man tent for myself, now i'm a little overweight but to put in perspective I cycle to and from work (12 miles) on a single speed bike and walk at least 6 but up to 20 miles every day. The tent was barely big enough for 1 person let alone 2, but I was awoken at 2am by people picthing tents in front of me, blocking escape routes and route to water....nevermind...when I went back Friday afternoon to get some water as there was no free water stations outside the campsite my tent was collapsed. my water bottle (1/2 filled ten litre cubitainer was still upwright but in a puddle the encased my sleeping bag, mat, clothing, power bank and headphones. after waiting at the fence for an hour in the sweltering mid day sun just to have a wander around the hugely over priced arena (£40 for prosecco, even though alcohol doesn't agree with me I do remember prosecco). The tent and lack of free water stations has ended my festival. I do also think, after Thursday night that there might not be enough facility to cope with the massive dehydration that will occur...30degrees has been predicted. Please have fun

My Tent got destroyed and some things damaged. I have gone home....lost hope and trust. At least I enjoyed last night but I think at 45years old Im quitting the idea of camping at festivals. I hope you have fun...

Hi Beth, Sounds good, Im definitely seeing showhawk duo on Thursday night and Depeche Mode.. I did look at the app and made a schedule of interesting bands i hadn't heard of...but its a festival and schedules....... I hope everyone has an amazing time...I don't drink or smoke so would probably be an 'old bore' for you. I did however surprise myself by dancing a few hours to D'n'B at Cirque dr la Quirk last night and loved Showhawk. Have Fun

    Could be good

Ride, James, Honeyblood, Maximo Park and Morcheba. OMG - I thought Common People was a cheesy concept, but, I may stand corrected. Going to visit, on my own. Gotta take the chance to see Ride in their home town!!!

I'm mid forties and staying the entire festival, in a tent. Nobody I know fancied this, but I feel a need to at least see Depech mode live before I can no longer have this privilidge. I do enjoy new music. Anyone else visiting the entire festival solo?
