Might just be personal opinion then, I can honestly only name one Kooks song and didn't even know they were still going before they got announced last year.
I'll believe it when I see it but I'll hold my hands up if I'm wrong.
its more the crowd than anything else, the audience is very indie. I bet they will be 3rd down, last two years a much heavier act has been 3rd down so it would make sense to continue this. Surely with Blossoms’ special guest status they won’t be moving 2 below the kooks, doesn’t really make sense as they are like the kooks’ guest?

They were 6th on the main on Community, reckon they'll be 6th/7th here too
That was more to get people to come in a bit earlier and start buying drinks than anything I reckon, they had a big crowd and it was a great show.

Some great additions there.
Connan Mockasin was initially announced on the Bon Iver poster (as well as Mitski). I wonder if he's changed days or playing both, presumably the former?
The Magic Gang and a few others played i believe played two days, might just be the case here.

The Kooks In 2018 were so bad on the main stage. Kaiser Chiefs have a much better live presence, seeing them in two weeks, can’t wait. Ricky Wilson is easily one of the most entertaining and energetic frontmen I’ve ever seen.
kooks were shocking I agree. No idea why they were booked to headline community

There’s far far worse live acts out there than the Kaiser Chiefs, that being said they shouldn’t be any higher than 4th.
i meant they are bad like being 3rd down. I would love to see Kaiser Chiefs personally they have good hits, like the kooks really a massive drop off. I bet the atmosphere is miles better and their good songs are better too.

Another announcement this week, got an email about it. Hoping for an act to slot in above Kate Nash, or maybe she is headlining the second stage

I think A$AP is confirmed as an Exclusive for Wireless. Also I can’t see Two Door taking anything other than a sub slot at this point, and I can’t see Cardi being low down on main, unless she takes the Post Malone “special guest” slot, and even that’s a stretch imo.
the main issue with this is Kaisers 3rd down though really

If they wanted a guaranteed sell-out and something that would keep the punters happy they could just stick Gerry Cinnamon on as headliner. Got a feeling he might headline a Summer Session instead though.
He’s around at the start of summer doing community. TRSNMT definitely makes more sense based on that. And he wouldn’t sell out a day, but it would definitely sell quickly to a certain point and then be very slow afterwards. Would make them a lot of bank as he would be a very cheap headliner though but 50k tix is a but much for him even in glasgow

The 1975 aren't a weak headliner,
VS Foo Fighters and the cohead? I am just saying they are weak in conparison

If we get tdcc and foals I will be there, not bothered about biffy but definitely wouldn’t complain

Fwiw I didn't mean they're subbing 75. It was just The Cribs who I meant are on that day. I don't know which day The Wombats are doing.
Oh yeah subbing the co would make more sense I guess. 21p and post aren’t really indie too so would probably be for the best

I've been told The Wombats are subbing and The Cribs are headlining The Pit on The 1975's day. Cheers.
this would be huge for the wombats to be fair, i reckon across both sites they are similar size to Courteeners really. Courteeners literally played brixton down south and wombats looked decent at Leeds Arena last night, I reckon its possible but it would be a weak day as 1975 are already a fairly weak headliner (compared to foos/the co)
edit: although so far the acts are quite southern like 1975 post and maybe 21p are definitely bigger down south I would have thought.

Would love to see it at Knebworth, no idea how feasible that is but its like 20 minutes from my house in the car

I actually think the vast majority of the TRNSMT crowd would rather see Snow Patrol to be honest, most of the crowd is under 30 and it fits non way more with what they've booked in the last 2 years.
Paying 60 quid to go to a festival that has main stage bands that put you to sleep seems a bit silly too.
i think the main thing is that Snow Patrol would be a lot cheaper and have a more indie support than The Who would, which i guess is down to the bookers. Just stick Gerry on the day and i'm sure it would do fine

It depends exactly what you mean by late on.
It still sells out every year I think it was late July, early August last year, maybe a little later.
It will obviously be line up dependent but I suspect if you decided by early Summer you'd get a ticket
It doesn’t actually sell out, they stop selling tickets about 2 weeks before the event and just say its sold out

Considering the maccabees split up in 2017 the chances of them playing anywhere let alone headlining are pretty slim
can’t say i keep up with them, to be honest

Just thought it was worth throwing some names into the mix for this. Truck released an "alternative Christmas playlist" a while ago and revealed that some of the artists in the playlist would be playing at the festival this year, however with no indications as to who.
Potential headliners in the mix: Fleet foxes, The killers(Too strong), Blink 182(Too strong), The Wombats, Blossoms, Wolf Alice.
Undercard: Kate Nash, Marika Hackman, Neck Deep, The Big Moon, The Maccabees
Pretty much everyone on twitter is predicting 2DCC, Catfish & Foals, however this makes me think we could be getting something completely different, along the lines of Wolf Alice, Blossoms & Fleet Foxes.
Those 3 headliners would sell really poorly? Isn’t Oxford Foals’ hometown surely they will be doing a show there? I reckon with their tour dates not having an Oxford show they’ll near certainly be making an appearance. I reckon catfish won't be doing a ton of fests this year, maybe in europe but here they will want to do arenas in autumn so probably only like one or two if glasto/reading/iow/trsnmt, not the whole medium festivals tour they did last year. Tdcc could happen maybe along with wolf alice/blossoms or wolf alice. How big are the Maccabees these days, surely they will be near the top of the bill still or I swear they were fairly high at Latitude recently?

kings of leon leaked for benicassim 2 weeks before, last at sziget in 2015 i really hope we don’t get them? Do you think they’d return this soon? Holding out for the strokes here or rhcp but probably a bit expensive. Kasabian would be nice

New Foals song bangs. Look nailed on for Glasto with their tour dates but I'd love a secret set, not sure of the likelihood as I haven't looked as their late summer dates.
Did you think the shows were quite small in the UK? Ally Pally seems small considering the Wombats are playing the SSE etc? I was expecting SSE at least really

i agree yet disagree with you. i get what you mean, i was at both nights in birmingham. but i thought the new TBHAC songs gave a bit of a breather/chill from the main jams and faster songs which i thought worked quite well. although it'd be great to have pure classics, i think it breaks the performance up well and both live shows were epic - regardless of the new stuff. i'd say calling drab is a bit far fetched
Ahhh its not even the tbhac thts the problem, for a new album they only play like 4/5 songs from it. The problem is the lack of songs from album 1 and to a lesser extent 2 because they clog the setlist with near enough AM in full every bloody night. I’ll take when the sun goes down over knee socks any day of the week. Maybe the hits will return when they do some british festivals!

Planning on getting early entry but was wondering if there's any entertainment or anything to do on the Thursday other than getting drunk?
Not really i guess you could buy the firewood and make a fire or something

Surely Bastille haven’t dropped off enough in two years to go from subbing a weak headliner (which is a strong sub spot right?) to go to R1 headline? They have had big songs like Happier since, although to be honest i couldn’t be happier having them off the main stage:/
