Lol at this. I might enjoy that music in a certain state but I want all of the people in the video to die as soon as possible.

And there was me thinking I was this thread’s sole bastion of extreme grumpiness… 😂

Best since i've been going! Also the implications for other stages like Daniel Avery's instagram post which is teasing me... are we getting my dream B2B with HAAi on Genosys...?

Chance of an Avery live set creeping into the mix?

don't think that many people want to be filmed particularly - its more about being close to the artist, which seems to be popular now

goes hand in hand with the general shift towards people facing the dj

I suppose its a good spot to stand too, your in the crowd but have a good amount of space. if one of my mates wanted to go there i'd probably follow to be with them vs on my own too i suppose

f**king hate all that facing the dj nonsense… makes me want to consciously never face them. Main reason why I don’t like venues like koko, because if you do that you get zero lights as they’re all aimed at the stage.

You mean I repeated wot someone said ( what was said about Fatboy). Other people shouting at clouds now. Tell me the name of a DJ who never plays anyone else's records then!

You’re either being a pedant, or you have no idea what that means in relation to djs. 🤦‍♂️

Somehow they seem to fit epic sized crowds on Copacabana beach.. 4.2m (the world record biggest crowd for a gig) for Rod Stewart (why!?) and 1.5m for the stones. The estimated crowd for Madonna is 2m.

Sorry, got confused - thought she was playing Rock in Rio, which isn’t on Copacabana beach.

You could say the same about Beans on Toast now and Showhawk Duo for example are there every year for a while now. They aren't uninteresting bookings. Considering what Fatboy can still charge for his own gigs, Glastonbury to grab him year in year out is still pretty decent I think. He is still someone that either plays high on the main stage at Creamfields or like the last two years hosts his own stage so it's not like he's getting rubbish slots all the time.

Yep - could very much as the same for both, and almost included both in my initial message. They certainly it are the very definition of uninteresting bookings (both with less merit than FBS).

and I haven’t made any judgement on FBS (even though I do have very clear feeling about him nowadays and will go nowhere near any of his sets. I was literally only saying it was the most uninspiring self confirm possible. That’s all.

I get the point, Fatboy Slim hasn't done anything for 20 years in music, his dj sets are just pressing play for songs not even his.

Not really that, although obviously true. It’s that FBS self confirming is quite clearly the most obvious and least interesting about the festival every single year. I’d only be remotely interested if he said he wasn’t playing.

Nope. Gok Wan is a 'fashion guru'. Him getting behind decks sounds as much fun as all the kpop women that are suddenly djs believing they are interesting see behind their length and tightness of their skirts.

    You’re missing the point.

I bought a 4 wheeled steel mesh gardening trolley for the 2013 festival and it's still going. Similar to this:

Garden Trolley Cart | Free Delivery (theworkplacedepot.co.uk)

Bit heavy/clunky but reliable and has pneumatic tyres so good for rough ground.  You can get them from most DIY places and garden centres for £50 - £60.

    Does it pack down flat?

    I mean, he's not wrong.

The cheaper ones (and for that matter some of the more expensive ones) tend to cut corners especially with things like wheels and axles, which are exactly the things that you need to be right if you're taking it on Glastonbury terrain.

I mean, I didn’t say I was considering a cheap one… was just seeking opinions on good value.

If true that’s an absolutely massive fail by both Arcadia and the festival. To wheel out something that was cancelled in 2017 is embarrassing.

I’m not even referring to bringing back Williams Green now, this is just another Joe Rush project that lacks freshness and costs money.

Making a play for my username? 😂

Is it wise to have Mitski headlining when she's doing 3 dates at hammersmith's just 3 months before? I'm expecting lots of competitions and NHS tickets this year.

Were you also one of the people predicting record numbers of people not paying their Glastonbury balance this year?

Pretty much all Festival lineups this year are crap, these ones included. Hopefully most of the good bands will be back next year.

Bands that should be back next year and in contention I'm thinking, Vampire Weekend, Wolf Alice, The xx, Mumford & Sons, Chappell Roan (if she continues to rise), Noah Kahan.

Can’t wait for those good bands to be back in contention… 🤦‍♂️

Agreed, was a cracking night and the sound has been seriously improved at ally pally I thought too.

Definitely… unless they brought their own rig

  15. Wow - Underworld were sublime. About as perfect a night as I can imagine. Manchester crew are in for a real treat. As much as I’d love to see them on the farm again, I don’t think anything less than two and a half hours does them justice when they’re on form like this.  Was disappointing to get a very standard, normal version of Born Slippy, but that really was the only negative.

i was just trying to remember if there'd ever been secret acts as stage headliners. - and then i remembered there had been at the park.

Can anyone else remember this? as I certainly can’t…
