I guess as a woman I'm more alert to dark, dangerous spaces.
Yeah we were a group of two couples, rather drunk at that point too so naive of something like that.

Sofia Kortesis and Lone were in Far Out on Friday night, plus Scalping were on Walled Garden. Bicep and Optimo on Saturday.
I didn't watch all of them, mainly due to being so knackered but what I see was great.
Sofia was excellent

Oh dear. I sincerely hope that the incidents did not involve the dark, totally unlit and dangerous spaces in the trees behind the Rising stage which were being used as a urinal by lots of men, but would also be a rapist's dream... 😞
We witnessed (and foiled) a theft before Metronomy - a woman accidentally left her phone on the ground when she got up to leave, and the the group next to her quick-as-a-flash leaned over, took the phone, whipped the back off and pocked the cash that was in the case and spread it out between them, then pocketed the phone. I called out to the people that I'd just seen what they did, and got called a c*nt. I was just about to pop off and find a security guard when the woman came back looking for her phone, and I took great delight in telling her that the group just there had her phone and her cash...
They gave it back, then got up and moved.
We were playing hide and seek quite late one evening around that bit by Rising and that sort of thing didn't even occur to me.
There was one evening/early morning elsewhere on site where we were told we'd have to go another way round as there had been an incident, hope everyone involved was okay.

My fault for going too hard at the start but I was gutted to be too tired for Nothern Soul on the Sunday night. Conked out straight after the fireworks. It sounded like it was a lot of fun and I'd prefer after dark entertainment like that way more than some of the stuff I saw.

Second time at Green Man. BCNR, Viagra Boys and Beach House were the stand out performances for me. I definitely agree with the family sentiment, number of acts where diablos were just being launched into the air was very irritating in front of the performers and the entitlement of some in the campsite was crazy. Still one of the best festival experiences I've had and I look forward to many more.

BCNR clashing with Beach House now is a gutter but means I can see Alex G and Willie J Healey now

Assuming next Thursday rather than tomorrow right?

Jessie Buckley and Bernard Butler self confirmed on Radio 2 this morning that they are playing Green Man.
That's crazy considering the latest movie she's in, Men, has lots of references to the Green Man mythology

That Brighton set on YouTube is lovely, some great sounding material there, only one I wasn't so sure on is Across The Pond Friend

Saw them last night at Glasgow, the material was strong, their performance genuinely brilliant and the crowd was very much willing them on from the start - lead vocal duties were split between three of them which makes them feel more of a collective and not reliant again on one person fronting them.
Ooo lush

Oh good, similar sort of sound to before? I know their last album was Arcade Fire inspired and the instrumental parts really stood out to me so I was hoping that would continue even without Issac.

Sorry for the thread bump, anyone seen BCNR on their tour this past week or so? How has the new material been?
-
Bagged Manchester tickets, super excited, their Castlefield Bowl set is in my top 5 gigs of all time.

End of empire I-III is definitely the album highlight for me

Alex g and Ezra clashing would be gutting, makes sense though as they're very different.

Metronomy were ace in Cardiff tonight and they're always even better at festivals so looking forward to seeing them again at Green Man.

Aren't they in the US over late August/September? The seem to be up and down the West Coast in August but admittedly they do have a couple of weeks gap but certainly doesn't feel like a mid-sized Welsh festival gap to me.
Lowlands same weekend, usually shares a few acts with Green man doesn't it?
-
Do we think it's too late for Wet Leg to be added? Got really into them at the moment but just missed them playing Bristol and Cardiff and UK tour for November is sold out but noticed they're free and around weekend of Green Man.
-
Just punching myself that I've missed them with the lead singer because I'm loving their new album, completely respect their decision but it's criminal to release that album and then not perform any of it. It's always tricky when it comes to a lead singer leaving.
-
Very hard to be excited about Black Country, New Road when their music sounds fantastic on Spotify but they've said they won't be performing any of it now the lead singer has quit. Just makes me wish I'd seen them before his departure.

Ty Segall has Sunday listed for GM on his website with other festival dates on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Sunday Far Out up against Kraftwerk perhaps?
I'm hoping for ezra or parquet courts against kraftwerk/Michael. I'll be gutted if parquet courts and ezra clash with either metronomy or beach house.

“Bangers” from acts low down on the line up:
- KEG, Farmhands
- Unschooling, NYE
- Annie Hart, Hard to be Still

Anyone else got any others??
Probably already know him and not sure if this is considered low down but Willie J Healey has always been great when I've seen him over the years.

They were amazing at EOTR 2017, felt they got shafted at APE 2019 though, they did not suit an early day main stage slot at all.
-
Their most recent album was pretty forgettable but I'd say Human Performance and Wide Awake are way beyond their older material, both albums feel more nuanced and less one dimensional.
