Is it definitely the co-op? I thought it was more to the right last time. Same area though.

Pretty sure that is base of Co-op, we used to walk past it from camping in Paines along the track they have just put down.

Pointed tent next to that is where there was a lockup last time, but that tent looks a bit smaller than was used for that, and then the cabins are about where Festival Medical Services usually is.

    Can we talk watches?

Currently have a Garmin 735xt but looking to upgrade as I’d like a wearable I can put music / podcasts on to so I don’t have to wear a bag to carry my phone every run.

I’d like another Garmin so it’s the 745, 945 or the fenix 6 pro.

Anyone have any recommendations out of the these?

Picked up a Garmin Venu2 at weekend (second hand but like new for £180).  Absolutely brilliant watch, really pleased with it for tracking runs/GPS and spotify while I run so don't need phone on runs any more.

Started running for first time in years 6 weeks ago, partly to get Glasto fit and also a family challenge.  Doing 3 5k's a week. Sort of followed my own version of C25k with run a bit walk a bit but getting better and now running sub 35min which I'm OK with for a chunky 50yo!  Starting to get sore shins though so going to move onto bike rides/running alternate - dusting off my bike which has been hanging in the garage for a couple of years untouched!

Exercise is good isn't it?  Need to lose some weight too but feeling better than I have for a few years and more glasto fit.

I camped on Big Ground in 2019. Every morning my sister and her boyfriend attempted to shower in Kidz Field and by the time they gave up and returned the remaining 3 of us were all done, hair and body washed from the field tap a few metres away. We were left with slightly muddy feet after but just rinsed those off last and we were good to go! On the first day it was just us that used it, but each day after saw more and more people join.

It was the most refreshing start to the day, cleared the head, was a laugh with everyone there, and my hair has never felt better!!

Only time I started to lose my good Glasto vibes was when queuing for campsite water tap and waiting for people to wash and shampoo.  I hope you do it when no one else is waiting as it is very annoying for others queuing to fill a water bottle.

Also, we have a big crane!

Might soon have an answer if the screens will be bigger on the Pyramid then.

Looking at prev years the frame around the screens looks like two arches bolted together one in front of another so I do wonder if that is all it will be again and they are laid out on the ground side by side.  Hoping for something different but I am a Leeds fan and used to disappointment.  Prepare yourselves if it isn't bigger screens - after two years our we are all getting giddy on here and I'm not sure how some of you will cope!

This looks like Gate A and I bet I'm in there somewhere.

Yeah - definitely looks link Gate A 2019.  Horror show.  We turned up just before 8am wanting to head to Gate D but were turned around by security who said Gate D was crazy busy and Gate A was good.  Guess coaches started arriving in force and the queue barely moved for about 3 hours.  As we got in Gate A and arrived to pitch in Dairy about 11.30 we met people that had turned up at Gate D at 10.30 and walked straight in!

    • Auto-refresh extensions are fine. Popular belief is that these extensions might get your ticket cancelled. I have never heard of this happening and I can't see how it would be detectable. If you use these extensions, you will improve your chances as you can have multiple browsers refreshing and looking for the desired text on the page. I'd recommend this one: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/auto-refresh-plus-page-mo/hgeljhfekpckiiplhkigfehkdpldcggm?hl=en as it lets you look for text on the page and stop refreshing. I would probably look for the word "registration" as there is a form on the final page that asks for your registration number, and the holding page has never said anything about that. But you can pretty quickly change that if the holding page does end up triggering it.

Is "registration" good as the key word for this?  I guess(hope) I will find out tonight unless anyone knows for sure.  Tension building!

  7. I was quite surprised by the numbers not taking up tickets earlier in the thread, but checked with our group of 12 this week and we have 2 definite no's and one other looking unlikely.  Gotta be good news for those waiting on the resale, we will be back in for 1 or 2 that were not successful first time around 🤞

As highly unlikely it is, I for one think Wolf Alice would absolutely smash it as Pyramid headliner and I'd be there with bells on if I actually had a ticket. Please disregard my avatar I'm not biased honest guv.

Yeah, agree and I'd be there whereas current headliner rumours I'd pass on (maybe a wander to Macca for a bit but thats it).  WA amazing band but won't please most.  Seems impossible for traditional groups with guitars to get that big these days so we are left with legacy bands like The Cure/Killers/Arctic Monkeys to headline alongside the stuff old farts like me don't really get like Billie/Kenrick & Sheeran.  WA would be great, help them step up a level and surprise a lot of people but can't see it happening unless others drop out.

  9. 1st Gig not yet cancelled is Flaming Lips in Leeds 20th July - now that would be some gig to come back to but I'm very doubtful it will go ahead.

Big gap after that but hopeful for these in Leeds Oct/Nov:

    Paul Heaton/Jacqui Abbott

    Elton John

    James/Happy Mondays

  10. After all the news in last few days and potential vaccine delays I was surprised and very pleased to get a text from my GP today saying I should go ahead and book.  I'm a few months off 50 and no health complications so was expecting a few weeks more waiting.  Probably just means my local area of North Yorks has some extra capacity this week, but I am booked in for tomorrow afternoon and am well chuffed.

There was some stuff in the papers a few days ago from some festie organisers which included cropredy where it seemed like govt had talked to them about vaccinated only or just tested being able to attend.

    https://www.theguardian.com/culture/2021/mar/06/fans-and-artists-must-have-covid-vaccine-before-attending-music-festivals-say-organisers?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Other

This is why I don't get why Reading & Leeds are so confident - if it is all vaccinated how can that work when the one time I had the misfortune to go to leeds it was full of pissed up under 18s that won't get the jab.  Testing would be a logistical nightmare, the LF tests still take 30 mins for results and keeping track of people hanging around the entrance for that will be tough, or anyone can get hold of a kit and register a negative result for themselves.  I can only think by that time they will be accepting everyone that is at risk has had the vaccinne and if there is an outbreak at a festival or other gatering it will not lead to and widespread impact.

This Cure set was majestic! One of my top five Glastonbury performances ever.

Absolutely - watched that open jawed. Their sound man got it spot on. Just sounded crystal clear and perfect.

If anyone is familiar with the joys of get_iplayer (and have a few hundred gigs of free disk space)  - you'll want this command

    get_iplayer --pid=b007r6vx --pid-recursive

    You are welcome

Can you remind me what the command is for individual sets?
