  1. Saw him in Glasgow last month, it was an absolutely brilliant show. Been a fan since Gold so it was great to finally see him live. It was an all-seated effort, very stripped back and quiet so I'm interested to see what the set list is going to be like as I imagine he'll need to jump it up a couple of notches.

Whatever happens he's down as one of my 'must-sees'.

  2. the money has gone on a number of different acts at different points over the last 2 months or so, and there's no reason to think the money is going on the right act this time just because it's going on one particular act.

Of all the names getting chucked around, the Roses are the ones I think are about the least likely of all, tho given my record this year that probably means it's them. :P

    :sarcastic:

  3. Recap on the 3rd headliner mystery ...

Nothing new in here but at least it has got me 5 minutes nearer to the announcement !

From everything we have been told and that Neil has gleaned, it appears that it has to be someone that fulfills all or most of the following criteria :-

    1. An act who is currently free to play on Sunday 28 June

    2. An act who is playing in (or near to) the UK around that date.

    3. An act who has shows around the time, either before or after, that have not Sold Out yet, or where they have signed an "exclusivity" clause.

    4. Probably a British (or Irish) act (3 non-UK headliners would be a departure for Glastonbury)

    5. It is not necessarily someone who the Eavii have been after for some time

    6. It appears to be a recently approached replacement booking

    It cannot be :-

    Muse

    The Who

    AC/DC

    It could be :-

    Blur

    Fleetwood Mac

    Florence & The Machine

    Could be Macca

  4. Blur are on Jools Holland tonight/Friday for anyone interested, along with Laura Marling, The Vaccines, Natalie Prass and a few more.

All of those are pretty strongly rumoured aren't they?

(With the possible exception of Natalie Prass, which is a shame as she was excellent when I saw her supporting Ryan Adams last month).

  5. the info I can place the most trust in for Chems is telling me that they'll be Sunday.

I'm not saying that's right, btw, just that in theory it's more likely to be right than other things I've heard.

    Cheers Neil, great news :)

The Strokes on one of the other days (excuse the pun) would be excellent.

  6. There's 12 of us going in my group, roughly half been before/half newbies like myself - none of us had any thoughts of not paying the balance last week. We'll be going whoever ends up playing. And neither headliner announced so far have been particularly well received.

Completely unscientific sample I know, but I do wonder how many of those shouting the loudest on fb and Twitter were ever actually going in the first place.

  7. I believe the prodigy have ruled themselves out of Glastonbury

I was hoping the response to the album might convince them to go for it. Hope over expectation.

The rumour about the Chems from a few days ago seemed more positive though.

  8. You have no idea how refreshing it is to see a first time post that's not about an apparent rumour! Welcome to the fun house!

Haha, I couldn't bring myself to do that having seen the crap you've been subjected to even in the last 24 hours.

  9. Hello folks,

Long time lurker, first time poster. I come to you with absolutely no inside info or rumours whatsoever but this thread has made me laugh quite a bit over the last few days and now we've had the (possible) extension to June I thought I'd join in.

This will be my first Glastonbury so looking forward to it regardless, however I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't be absolutely made up if Macca/Bowie/The Mac ended up headlining. Prince or Roses would be a great backup, but I'd be a wee bit gutted if it ends up being Flo, and I say that as someone who likes her.

I agree wholeheartedly with whoever it was who mentioned Chic a few pages back (not as a headliner but on the Pyramid at some point), having seen them at Wickerman two years ago they'd be perfect.

I'm also keeping my fingers crossed that we get at least one, if not both of The Chems and The Prodigy.

Counting the days to June now whatever happens, refreshing this thread repeatedly between now and then should keep me going!
