  1. Right, my knowledge of techno is a little on the limited side. I realise there is a lack of it at Glastonbury, but hopefully someone can guide me to the right place if it's there. A good example of what I enjoy is whatever Daniel Avery throws at me (techno..?). I just put on his DJ Kicks record and now really want to find a dark corner of the festival that'll give me that kind of sound. Any suggestions?

  2. Sunny in Glasgow. I don't trust it. I'm concerned that the sun is trying to trick me into using up my quota of sun for the year. Going to stay inside and save it for next week.

Let's not mention it again. Just turn up en-thread-masse at 4am on Monday

If it's true the rest of my group are going to have to be content with a very slow drive home to Glasgow.

I am convinced that the secret Gas Tower set is Björk. She's been doing multimedia stuff, it has SHHH in the set name (as in It's Oh So Quiet) and Neil did have one of her DJ sets as a rumour since.

I'll probably be asleep at that point.

Oh man that'd be a bit special... try and keep the possibility hushed from the outside world.

I'm well up for attempting to meet up via descriptions of each other as well. If only for the stories of failed attempts the week after.

I gave someone a huge hug at the four tet allnighter thinking it was someone from here. It wasn't, I think they just complimented my tshirt...

probably more likely to come on with dj shadow than the other way round. which makes it such a shame that someone decided to put dj shadow on as the same time as the avalanches

Yup that's the dilemma I'm having. Think I'm going to go with shadow, although he is playing Glasgow later this year. But not with a chance of a RTJ appearance.

    TOO MUCH!

Well, here's my clashfinder. But in terms of later night time adventures it looks a little like this:

    Thursday:

Beat Hotel from about 8 until 3. Ha! Hunee>Matias Aguayo>Young Marco>Palms Trax. Although there are options for escaping.

    Friday:

Little empty on this one actually. Looks like Hessle Audio/DJ Tennis Moscoman>Blawan (mayhaps)>Dan Shake

    Saturday:

Looking forward to this one... Joe Goddard>Jon Hopkins (for a bit) >Fort Romeau Jennifer Cardini > Daniel Avery then probably over to block 9. Sad to be missing Midland...

    Sunday:

Justice>Hercules&Love Affair>Kevin Saunderson/MAW>Felix Dickinson if block 9 doesn't work out may skip on over to Jamie and pals.

Anywhere you think I should be let me know...

  8. Excitement levels hitting an all time high with roadtrip playlist creating. I actually have an electronic/dance crew this year! My three brothers, two pals who come to all music with me and my girlfriend. SO KEEN. Normally it's just a couple of us up for it.

We will all get stuck in quick sand like mud that sucks us in but leaves our heads protruding until after Sunday. I pity those poor sould stuck on the Pyramid field with no escape from Ed.

Took pity on you? Took a piss on me.

@Mezhyp1 Any recommendations for goings-on in Glasgow this weekend? Will be there for Sat and Sun nights

Steffi and Virginia and playing a boat party on Saturday, the after party is in subclub. I'd imagine it's a great opportunity to see the subclub

Also auntie flo and andrew '7 years of highlife' at the art school, just in case that's more yer jam. I'll be heading to that.

  11. Have had some good times at the crows nest. A particularly enjoyable dj set from Al Doyle last year, which turned into a wee party when someone (in fact pretty sure it was Joe...) announced that we were to remain part of the EU. I didn't believe anyone when I woke up and heard the opposite... Also a lovely set from Alexis Taylor last year too. Surprised he's not playing anywhere in fact.

Looks like we may have lost Factory Floor from the lineup, their Glade slot now reads TBA.

That would be a shame, but make my clash decisions much easier.

Aphex Twin and Nicolas Jaar were both pretty mind-altering yesterday

Super jealous of anyone at field day. Saw Nicolas on Thursday in Glasgow and it was incredible.

Hey guys  - long time lurker, first time poster

Some ace recommendations i've been picking up on here!

My tastes for the late night stuff are in the Four Tet/Ben UFO/Bicep/Ame kind of realm which seems fairly well catered for but am looking for some more electronic themed stuff for earlier in the days before things really kick off

I'm thinking stuff like Forest Swords (will be catching them sunday), Moderat (likewise), Rival Consoles, Kiasmos, Throwing Snow, Max Cooper etc.  or even more poppy stuff with some electronic influence (Sylvan Esso, Georgia (friday park stage..), Tei Shi, Howling or stuff like that).

    Any suggestions appreciated!

I was very ready to give you lots of answers based upon your tastes being very similar to mine, but then realised day time viewing is pretty sparse in that department as far as I can tell... I'm going to count daytime as pre 19:00. I reckon maybe try Naduve, Shame On Us, Ross From Friends, Art's House... of course I'd love if Kiasmos and co were there but sadly naaaaae.

Perhaps someone else can enlighten us to some good day time listening.

P.s Bought tickets to Kiasmos/Dawn of Midi - 10 years of erased tapes - show this morning. SUPER KEEN.
