Another person looking at camping mat options, need to replace our 10 year old self inflating double Vango. Don't trust it to last out another year as it already has a few patches on it.

    Looking at these 2:

Going to see if Millets have the Vango in stock to test it out.

Need a good level of comfort as were getting old but want to keep the bulk / weight down for coach travel. Also considered separate mats that can be joined together but can't find much other than unknown brand stuff like this Wild Earth Ultra Lightweight (£33 x 2).

    Any thoughts?

Don't know about those but I have a thermarest and LOVE IT.  I generally tend to pass out rather than go to sleep, so its always served me well. Never woke up too hot or too cold.

I'm listening to the Ezra podcast now and to be fair, it's Emily that keeping talking about him.  He's happy to answer her questions at length, but it's not him that changes the subject most of the time.

This is true, and its one of the endearing things about her. She seemed genuinely interested in others perceptions of the festival and their experiences. There were just a few moments of cringeworthiness for me.  I suppose this is to be expected with new podcasts.  And maybe I need to not be such a grump.

I’ve never heard the fella’s music, but I got to say, I enjoyed the George Ezra/Emily Eavis podcast more. I didn’t warm to RdB.

I agree I thought this one repeated some of the same info.

At some points in both podcasts I felt the interviewers made it about themselves. Several times I thought: SHUT UP ALREADY AND LET HER ANSWER. They both asked waffling questions and paraphrased the same idea for ages instead letting her respond.

Or maybe I just woke up on the wrong side of the bed.

  5. Not enough!

My ex and I had our 2nd date at Glastonbury and ended up spending the entire festival together. If you can get along there you can get along anywhere I think!

Now that I'm single again, I say on my dating profile: MUST LOVE GLASTONBURY.  One guy said to me: "Glastonbury went WAY out of my price range ages ago".  Thanks, but no thanks.

There will be 3 "people" in any of my future relationships.

No, there's a stall up at the top of the Park near the BBC's bit that sells them. If memory serves there's a big wooden shack and sells breakfasts and whatnot and it's a part of that.

Sweet, thanks. Did not know about this place! Will check it out as I am always on the hunt for a breakfast bloody mary.

The ones at the Cornish Arms were decent as well, if not pricey.

That Bloody Mary stall in the Park is an absolute life saver in the morning, just a shame the place seems to run out of everything by about 11am.

Do you mean the ones in the Bimble Inn?  I've been told countless times that the best Bloody Marys are in the Park.  I just wasn't sure if it was a mythical, dedicated stall or the ones from the Inn that have been spoken of.

I can vouch for the ones at the inn and you can get a half a pint ale chaser at the same time!

Saw them being talked about on here, listened to a few of their songs and then noticed they’re playing right round the corner from me so bought a ticket (last one seemingly). Should be good. Williams Green or low John Peel I imagine?

Damn you. I just went to buy a ticket and there are none available (I'm assuming it was for the Sound gig).  If for whatever reason you want to sell your ticket....

  9. The year was probably 2013 and I was spangled with my then boyfriend in the Park late one Glastonbury night.  We were approached by a young couple not much more than 20 who thought we were THE COOLEST.  Not sure what their criteria was but they claimed we epitomised Glastonbury.  Mind you, we were only mid-30s and knew we were hardly grizzled veterans, but we were flattered nonetheless and off our chops.

It was their first Glastonbury, so we shared our goodies,  had a nice chat imparting our wisdom, giving out tips and tricks to the youngsters. They were absolutely lovely and really got Glastonbury.  Suddenly the male, who was clearly enamoured with us,  said, "I'm telling them. They should KNOW."  The girl had no time to respond, but her face showed her horror.

    "THIS IS DAVID ATTENBOROUGH'S GRANDDAUGHTER".

Our eyes, already as wide as saucers, lit up and before we were able to spit out platitudes and questions ("NO WAY!", "You're so lucky!", "What's he like?!", "Is he a good grandpappy!?", "THAT'S SO AWESOME"), she smacked her boyfriend and bolted down the hill.  The BF explained: "She hates when I tell people that but I think its so cool."

I wonder if it was true and I wonder if they are still together enjoying many more Glastonburys.

K at first Neil was like...

Are you ready for this? Nah I don't think you're ready for this.

And then he was like Nah not worth the hype.

    What does this tell us?

Someone that we dont expect but also isn't worth hype.

Maybe the hype isn’t worth it in Neil’s estimation! Or he is making popcorn in preparation of the fallout

I think it would be hilarious, the meltdown would be visible from space.

I saw Dion interviewed on Johnathon Ross (I think) a few years ago and was very pleasantly surprised at how she came across. Funny, charming and quite down to earth (she's got a waterpark in her garden!!), don't get me wrong I can't stand her music but I liked her as a person.

    Celebs are just like us!!

I don’t think she’s a terrible human either, and I secretly like a song or two. The best thing about her is her dad dancing which she does unabashedly

I've managed to miss them every time they've toured in recent years. Twice I've had tickets but been unable to go. I've got tickets for Wembley but would much prefer to see them at Glasto instead.

Sounds like they should do it. JUST FOR YOUR SAKE!  That is a really bad run of luck!

I had been pinning my hopes on them playing Glasto and when they didn't, I eventually bit the bullet and paid a lot of money to see them at the o2 in London.  Whilst I'm glad I saw them - it was the original line up - I felt slightly disappointed.  Not least because the crowd surrounding me were box-ticking corpses confused if they played anything that didn't sound exactly like it did on the album.

The best moments for me was when it was just Lindsay and his guitar with a vocal.

Glasto would be special, that's for sure.

Because it's better than never seeing them at all.

It's reaching the stage with some of our favourite bands where we can't afford to be too picky in terms of lineup.

Fair enough. I wrote that on the assumption that any FM fan would have seen them by now and that Glasto would simply be a special moment.

  14. Just now, eFestivals said:

it is another pay day they wouldn't have tho - and a chance to sell their back catalogue.

But didn't they play Isle of Wight over Glasto because of the money?  Was that just a rumour (lol) - that they were offended by Glasto's fee?

  15. Why would anyone want to see Fleetwood Mac without Lindsey Buckingham?

I highly doubt they'll take the reduced fee given that they settled Buckingham's lawsuit out of court. That must have hurt!  If they refused once before I'm sure they would refuse more so now.

  16. The sad news is that if they (the Strokes) are headlining Glastonbury we won't know for quite a long time. I should think they'll need to shift some of those APE tickets first.
