I've been quietly watching the Glastonbury message boards for over a decade now but it's this thread that's made me take the plunge and sign up. Well done to you all and I'm really looking forward to obsessing over the weather with each and every one of you!

Oh, sweet! I don’t think they did in 2017 did they? But yeah, bring on the heat!

I'm not sure they opened all of them, but they did open avalon. I sat there.  They had notifications up on all the LED screens telling you where was open for shade on the Wednesday.

if it is really hot would the festival consider opening the likes of the JP Tent, Leftfield, BBC Introducing etc... so people can shelter from the heat in there?

Fwiw, I would one million percent settle for hot weather over rain and mud (and I’m basically ginger).

yes, they have done this in the past

Morning,  I just had to sign up to say cheers for all the updates. I've been reading the thread for the last few days or so and it's been an emotional rollercoaster! Looking my forward to my first Glastonbury and then taking my meteorology exams ??

Welcome!!!  Love the username!  I hope it is remembered in the years to come.

To be fair I think they are more about the possibility of an extended period of warm weather, rather than just for a few days next week.

The GFS 18Z is running now anyway..... Looks like I'm staying up for it.

How long does it take? Perhaps I'll stay up long enough..

Have to say I'm seriously impressed how thorough you have been in your research ahead of the festival. Cannot say it's a website I'd thought to check!

efests is my go-to but in the spirit of the festival I search far and wide...

Wonder if they are friends with Phillipa?

  9. At Stonebridge in 2017 he didn't seem to DJ at all - more pointed to CDs and got the crowd going.  In my opinion a novelty act, but as a snooker fan, one worth seeing.

    Oh.  OH.

I take it all back.  Turns out I can't read weather forecasts.  I'm going to go back under my rock.  See you on the farm...

Haha!!  But now you can be happy that the Download forecast looks less shite.  So long as it doesn't affect the Glastonbury forecast we are all good!

A wet download means a dry Glastonbury...

But that is not forecasting rain for download (or a least not much!).  I am going to both and I am happy to take one for the team and have a wet download in favour of a nicer Glastonbury.

But every day is literally the same as the Tuesday and Wednesday.  And did you miss the black, not grey, but black clouds on Saturday night and all of Sunday with 90% chance of double-drop rain?

    That's today's weather.

  13. Not me, but my mate was in Las Vegas on holiday and was sat at a blackjack table when Michael strolls by.  He thought he was hallucinating and I wouldn't have believed him unless I saw the photo evidence.  He was in that neck of the woods (LA I think) to pick up a festival award apparently.
