Anyone know if there is a refresh button on asus laptop. Just realised it is a new one since last sale and there is no refresh. F5 is screen brightness!

My random comment above was for you… 🤦‍♀️

Homd down Fn and escape and it will change F5 from adjusting brightness to refreshing.

  2. Best were probably:

    - Spicy calamari and chips (I think it must have been near cabaret as that’s where I ended up eating it… amazed how you all remember where you got your food from as most details are pretty hazy for me 😳).

    - Really simple humous with pitta and salad from veggie cafe in Croissant Neuf (not the one with proper crockery, the other one!) - it was exactly what I needed at that moment and was delicious.

    - Goats cheese pizza from T&C (I think opposite Astrolabe perhaps 🤷‍♀️) - wasn’t hoping for much as usually festival pizza is mediocre at best, but it was actually lovely and didn’t have to wait long for it at all

    Worst:

    - Amazed to see so many raving about the dosa place by car henge.  I had a paneer dosa with onion bhaji - the dosa was incredibly bland and the bhaji was burnt.

    - This one was my own fault and knew it would be crap when I ordered but was in a hurry so looked for the shortest queue by the Other stage. A really revolting sausage bap which was 97% fat and gristle. What a waste of a meal opportunity 😩

    - Crepe from the top of the hill at Pyramid whilst waiting for Elton - all the other stalls up there were out of food and we didn’t want to chance venturing further afield and carrying food for five all through the crowd! Took the best part of an hour to get it, they told us what we initially ordered wasn’t available (but then saw them making the same thing up for others) and my “mozzarella, tomato and pesto” crepe was actually “cheddar, tomato, and such a tiny drop of pesto I couldn’t actually taste it.

Oh God. Even busier than the Stones?

I think possibly about the same as the Stones. Although I was possibly not in a fit state to judge the crowd for that one…

  4. I’m a bit of a lurker around these parts, but as always have followed the weather thread with closer attention than I have ever paid to my own children…

Just chipping in to add my thanks to everyone who has shared their weather wisdom and most especially to @briddj- have thoroughly enjoyed your updates and appreciate the time you’ve spent keeping us all on the edge of our seats!

Setting off after the school run for the CV field, hoping the ground will have dried up by the time we get there (guessing around 1pm).

Have a fabulous festival all - here’s hoping there aren’t any more twists to the weather rollercoaster we’ve all being enjoying!

  5. Almost finished packing. Booze all decanted, mixers in the fridge in the van. Tesco shop came this morning and predictably most of the snacks and breakfast bits I’d added to take were missing, so need to pop out at some point to sort these, get petrol and check tyres.

I am notoriously last minute and disorganised with EVERYTHING ( hello ADHD), but when it comes to Glastonbury the excitement always has me planning, organised and sorted miles in advance and it feels weird 😂

But surely you can see the fact that there has been, at the very least, one day of each of the last festivals since 2016 that to you are unbearable or unmanageable is not some sort of weird unexplained phenomenon? They are simply par for the course and to be entirely expected for summer time.

I don’t think Fuzzy has suggested otherwise? Not seen a single comment saying that heat/sun is a surprise, just that it is often difficult to tolerate. I feel similarly, as I suspect so many others.

In my case 3 days. Email early Tuesday morning. Tracking Ref only kicked in this morning when they were actually out for delivery (They have a sticker on them which says “Secure delivery - guaranteed by 1pm”). To be fair to them, the See email does make it clear this might be the case.

    A week for me

Booked the Monday before off. I don’t know what planet I was on when I thought oh I’ll work the Monday, get my sh*t together and go down Tuesday. I’ll be neither use nor ornament to anyone that day, feeling quite distracted and very useless this week and it’s not going to get better from here.

I wish I could spare the leave to do this! Sadly I’m pretty sure I’m duty GP that day which will inevitably be carnage but I will at least be smiling knowing I’ll be parked up in the CV field the next day!

Yes, same here but it does say it might not work until delivery has been attempted. Which is a bloody stupid tracker if you can’t track the progress of the delivery!

Mine started working yesterday morning and arrived five minutes ago.

Here we go then, one final time. Good funny stuff. In the Cabaret tent unless otherwise noted. I'm also skipping over acts that people probably know like Dom Joly, Jonathan Pie, Adam Hills, Phil Wang, Ivo Graham and Jamali Maddix as you probably already know if you like them.

    Friday
Marcus Du Sautoy (1200-1250, Astrolabe, also same time Saturday and Sunday) - he's a great Maths writer with a knack for performing as well. More a kids show really but good fun.
George Egg's Set Menu (1340-1440, Astrolabe, also same time Saturday and Sunday)  - He cooks amazing food while talking about it and with whatever he can legally use in a tent. Then you get to eat it.
James Acaster in conversation with Nish Kumar (1500-1545) - wins the prize for most obvious "let's do something so we can get a ticket to the festival" event of 2023. I suspect this will be either hilarious or a complete train wreck.
Stephen Frost Improv Allstars (1520-1620, Astrolabe, also same time Saturday) - brilliant improvisers, been at every festival at least since I started going in 2003. Not caught them the past couple of years and massively regret it now Andy Smart is away.
Maween Rizwan with Musicians and Dancers (2320-0000 also Sat 2130-2210) - I don't know if that's the title of the show or a literal description. I know he does songs and dance routines in his shows but this could be something you won't see elsewhere...
Frank Sanazi (0020-0050) - Man doing Frank Sinatra songs as Hitler. Yes it's offensive. Also funny. Weirdly the guy behind him is doing his Neil Diamond act the Sunday but that involves neither comedy or fascism and is just a straight up tribute act.
Rob Kemp - Elvis Dead (0055-0150) - Rob acts out the entirety of Evil Dead 2 through the medium of Elvis songs. He has the voice for it and it's brilliant.

    Saturday
The Guardian Live Interview (1205-1255) - They are doing this all three days, Friday is Sharleen Spiteri and Sunday is Mel C. The Saturday one doesn't list anyone so is technically a TBC. (Jarvis?) (Edit - this is probably Queen's of the Stone Age)
Ian Stone (1415-1445) - Jeremy Hardy is away, Marcus Brigstocke and Steve Gribben don't get booked here anymore, so it's Ian and Nish as the only ones left getting angry about the Tories outside of the Leftfield.
Marcel Lucont's Cabaret Fantastique (2030-2110) - comedy French character act (the character is French, not Alexis) who does poems and songs and all sorts.
Andrew O'Neil (0015-0045, also Sunday 2230-2300 and Friday Labortatory Stage 1700-1745) - complete off-beat, occasionally musical, satanic whimsy

    Sunday
Stuart Goldsmith (1705-1735) - one of the best stand-ups in the UK for my money
Flo & Joan (1815-1845) - great musical comedy duo
John Robertson - The Dark Room (2305-2355) - this is one of the greatest shows out there, an interactive choose your own adventure game presided over by a terrifying gamesmaster and the chance to win a flamboyant potato or a tin of beans. I'd recommend whole-heartedly as one of the greatest things you'll see all weekend. But he's doing it just once, and it'll clash with Elton (because Elton will not finish on time). This is my worst clash of the festival. Maybe he'll do a set a Mavericks.

There we go - may do another post for circus later in the week.

Agree with lots of these (especially Flo & Joan, I will be there and singing along!), but disappointed that James Acaster (who I absolutely love) is paired with Nish Kumar who I sadly just find irritating.

Is that a California? On the one I used to have (2007 model) the awning is attached to the roof so you can just leave it rolled up if you don't want to use it?

No it’s a T6 conversion. Sorry my photo did confuse my point a bit! Love the wind out awning, I mean our drive away awning. It looked like most in smaller vans take something along these lines, just wondering if I’m making a mistake planning to leave it at home (fine in a dry year but not sure if I’ll regret it if it’s a wet one
