  1. The Smashing Pumpkins confirmed for Hurricane/Southside two weeks before Rock Werchter and some two smaller festivals in Slovakia and Portugal one and two weeks after Rock Werchter. Smashing Pumpkins used to be one of my favorite bands and as I've never seen'em I'd love if they'd come to Werchter. I know Billy Corgan is the only original member but I'd still love to hear him sing Bullet With Butterfly Wings, Ava Adore, Today, 1979, The End is the Beginning is the End, Perfect, Zero, Tonight Tonight, Cherub Rock etc etc.

  2. I liked Arctic Monkeys in 2011, but I can't say that I'm too worried about this. I've always thought this band was too hyped anyway.

System of a Down are apparently touring next summer, get them as sub-headliners( I know, not likely) :D

But if there is an announcement next week what bands can we expect? The Prodigy, 30 Secounds to Mars, Queens of the Stone Age, The Hives, The Killers, Maroon 5, Bloc Party, of Monsters and Men, Sigur Rós, FUN. Bad Religion, Triggerfinger, Slash, Deftones...even Sting? ...or Soundgarden? :D

  3. Hello again everybody and a happy new year...I hope you had a good relaxing time with your friends and family over the holidays :)

Can somebody translate this interview for me? http://www.stubru.be/programmas/soundof2013/thesoundof2013dedancewereld

I know the story on nme.co.uk from yesterday but this Rob da Bank guy also spoke on twitter last night and didn't sound so sure abut Daft Punk there. On twitter he said: "On the Daft Punk thing, I'm not their manager, agent or mate so I have no idea if they'll tour in 2013...or not! They may do 300 festivals!"

...as I've said before, my guess would be that The Prodigy will be the only dance act this year, but Prodigy AND Daft Punk would be amazing :)

  4. For me, The XX was awful last summer. After about 2 songs we walked away. A good sign of how bad they were was my friend who was at the bar when they started playing. He ordered 5 beers and drank them all at the bar, just to get through the pain :) ....but of course each to his own :)

There are four acts that have stood out for me; Nine Inch Nails in 2009, Coldplay in 2009, Pearl Jam 2012 and Editors 2012. I must also give a big credit to Chase & Status 2012, Triggerfinger 2011 and Arcade Fire 2010.

The worst for me is The xx 2012, Mumford & Sons 2012, 30 Seconds to Mars 2010 and The Ting Tings 2010.

  5. If it's true I think this is more realistic:

Volbeat - QOTSA - Green Day - Prodigy

Arctic Monkeys - Kings of Leon - Blur

Bloc Party - The Killers - Rammstein

Placebo - Depeche Mode - Editors

+ Sigur Ros headlining the barn on thursday.

Bloc Party played before Killers en Coldplay in 09 btw, no dance-act afterwards.
