If we are going to be racist can we at least use the right racism.  That was aimed at the Japanese.  Or just edit your comments and don't get banned.

got to remember also that these cases were happening over a decade or two, not at same time...and all across the country.

I get that. But surely the fraud investigators saw an increase on cases.

I worked for the Child Support Agency in an office where everything was done manually. That is all cases that the system had f**ked up. We had 2 offices and a few hundred people dealing with this. I can't see how the post office was allowed to continue.

For transparency I have worked for the Royal Mail typing in postcodes that the AI system couldn't read. A system that cist billions but was sh*t.

I watched the programme and it still leaves so many questions. I understand the law with the police and the CPS and there are checks and balances, but I don't understand that so many cases could be brought privately. Who monitors this. From the TV the people were not interviewed under the PACE act I.e. having recordings.

    What a shower of sh*t.

  4. I didn't see the Post Office thingy on TV but there is something I don't understand. The CPS prosecuted around 50 cases and the rest were private prosecutions by the PO in the hundreds. Did this not appear unusual to anybody? Surely there would be some sort of oversight for fraud and when the cases increase 10 fold that should strike alarm bells.

    What's the point of campaigning?

If a random person can turn up on your doorstep, talk to you for a bit and hand you a leaflet and sway your vote then you aren't really serious about the topic or were never gonna seriously vote for that party anyway.

I guess it would all depend on what they looked like for me. I am a sucker for a pretty face.

well, another sh*t year ends, I wonder how sh*t 2024 will be? Will Ukraine-Russia war get resolved, or will it grind on with Russia hoping that western support for Ukraine will continue to falter? Will the Israel attack on Gaza escalate to west bank, Lebanon, and a wider war in the region? Will Serbia/Kosovo kick off? Will parts of Africa continue to have its various wars and atrocities? Will China invade Taiwan, and if so how will US react?  will we have WW3? Will Trump win back the white house? And most scary of all will the evil tory zionist kid starver become PM?

    Happy New Year.

Ah who gives a sh*t. I have my nice social housing flat and a supermarket less than 100 yards away. As long as we don't get nuked I am OK. Let the stupid buggers battle it out over whatever they are battling over. I used to be fixed on the news but now I mainly just follow links on this thread and all is good in the world.

    Happy New Year

I think I agree with most these guidelines.  Common sense stuff.

I am a little concerned about telling parents if a child socially identifies. That is the same if a child identifies as gay and the school decides to tell the parents. I am not comparing the two btw.

As you may be aware I had kids in care for a spell. One thing that came up a lot was something called Gillick Competency. Essentially it relates to the maturity of an under 16 to make their own decisions primarily for medical treatment but also social aspects.

There is a good outline here

I don't want to get into a debate about transgender as it all confuses me and quite frankly I don't care. Everyone has the right to cut off or add bits to their body if they want.
