Wimborne Folk Festival 2007


Wimborne Folk Festival was founded in 1980. and has become one of the largest gathering of dance teams and musicians in the South of England.

The event is based on the town centre's streets and attracts thousands of visitors from all over the UK, and from the rest of the world. The festival features both contemporary and traditional music with a mixture of singers and musicians, plus Morris Dancers, ceilidh groups and callers.

Concerts take place at the Tivoli Theatre and Allendale Centre. Artists booked so far this year include: Chris Newman & Máire Ní Cathasaigh; Arty McGlynn & Nollaig Casey; At First Light; Swarb's Lazarus; Téada; Stephen Fearing; Back of the Moon; Skyhook; Anna Massie Band; Steve Tilston; Shona Kipling & Damien O'Kane; Luke Daniels and Friends; James Chadwick; Four Hand Reel; Mick Ryan & Pete Harris; Megson; and Paul Downes Traditional Music Academy.

All lunchtime concerts and workshops are free.

Tickets:
Individual evening or afternoon concert tickets are available, and are priced from £10-£18 depending on the event. Child tickets (aged 10-14yrs) are half price. Accompanied children under 10 years get in free. There is a 10% reduction for Senior Citizens & Students on weekend tickets only.
