Riverside Festival - CANCELLED 2011

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED.
Stamford Riverside Festival has been cancelled.

Barbara Sandbach, Festival Director and Trustee, said: "After months of delays and prevarication, Stamford Town Council have voted to obstruct Riverside's application to use the Meadows. They have approved changes to the Policy and Terms and Conditions for use of the Meadows and Recreation Ground, without any consultation with any regular users of the facilities and in full knowledge that Riverside in particular would be unable to legally comply with their new conditions. The Council also unanimously approved one condition, specifically applicable to only Riverside, knowing that we cannot legally comply. We have tried every means available to talk with the Town Council before they made these decisions and now we are left with no other option than cancelling the Festival for 2011."
