The 10th annual FREE Riverside Festival is now expanding to a friendly two-day event held on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th July. Taking place by the river Welland, in the Meadows in the centre of the historic town of Stamford, Lincolnshire, the event is free and organised by volunteers.

Line-up

Saturday
Riverside Stage: Amicus, The Brays, The Whybirds, The Lost Souls, Decades & Digital, The Loosehounds, Danny Fontaine & The Horns of Fury, Flutacious, The Rhythmites, and Kissmet.

Marquee Stage: Samurai Lawn Party, The Beautiful Sleazy, Smokescreen, 69 Shots, Death Valley Piledriver, Awake, Don't Look Down, Hollywood Tease, The More I See, Amelia, and March To The Grave.

Singer/Songwriters Stage: Line Up To Be Confirmed.

Buskers Stage: Have you got the talent to play at Riverside? How about entertainining the masses yourself? The stage has a small PA system, and is there to give you the chance to perform at the festival. Just turn up with an instrument (or whatever) and talk to Paul Caffrey the Stage Manager who will see if he has a spare slot for you to play.

Riverside Stage: New for 2010, Robert Smyth School Jazz, Muha, Jazz Mark 4, World Service Project,Jez Hellard, Los Salvadores, and Whimwise.

Acoustic Stage: Jeff May, Sean Taylor, Re-entrants, Jarmean, Tangata, Pam Wyn Shannon, Chavo, and Dead Rabbits.

Other entertainment
This is Art Stage: New for 2010 – Cheerleading, Dance, Poetry, Belly Dancing, Theatrical Singing, Acro Dance, Magic, Tap Dancing, Illusions, Comedy, Ballet, String Quartet, Mime, Medieval Comic Acting, & Acoustic Musicians.

This is Art Exhibition Photography, poetry and short stories from the Riverside Be Creative competitions.

Huge Art – New for 2010 – help create a unique giant 'Riverside' canvas by painting your part of the jigsaw.

Storytelling - New for 2010 - performances for children, families and adults.

Children's Workshops – New for 2010 - African Drumming, African Dance, Indian and Asian Arts & Crafts.

Children's Entertainment Clowns, Stilt Walkers, Punch & Judy, Face Painters, Trampolines.

Traditional Family Fun Fair from Taylors Amusements.

Saturday Finale A fabulous firework finale from 1605 Fireworks.

Sunday Finale A surprise finale to finish off our 10th Anniversary celebrations.

There will also be a wide range of caterers on site offering food from around the world as well as a chance to take part in a little retail therapy.

Ale & Cider

Real Ale, Beer & Cider Festival - Extended for 2010 - featuring 50 real ales, 25 real ciders mainly from local breweries including Newby Wyke, Oakham Ales, Oldershaw and Batemans.

The Riverside Bar This bar offers more commercial products such as lager and bitter from the keg, wine, Pimms and soft drinks.

Express Can Bar For those of you who are in a hurry to see the next band or who need to quickly quench your thirst, the Express Can bar is available to serve you with cans of lager, bitter, cider & Guinness.

Entertainment

Both days will feature three stages of live music (including the buskers stage), there will be no dance stage this year. Plus, Stamford's largest beer and cider festival once again featuring a wide variety of real ales and ciders as part of the beer festival in a 200' long bar, traditional fun fair, multi-media marquee, children's entertainment as well as opportunities to taste food from across the world and take part in a little retail therapy.

Alcohol

No alcohol is allowed to be taken on site. Any bottles or cans will be confiscated at the gate, as will unsealed plastic bottles. There is plenty of drink available at the Pimms bar and beer festival.

Not for profit

The Festival operates on a not-for-profit basis and although admission is free they do ask for a a small donation to help with the costs of staging the event.

Show your colours

In exchange for a donation, organisers will provide supporters with a Coloured Wristband - Red on Saturday, Blue on Sunday. Please show your support by showing your colours - and encourage others to do the same.
