Shoreditch Festival 2009


The Shoreditch Festival takes place at a variety of venues from Friday 17th to Wednesday 22nd July with cultural activities, events and performances in and around Shoreditch Park with the theme of Earthly Delights.

Highlights include:
Proms in Shoreditch Park with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and a firework finale on Friday 17 July, 7.30pm.

Saturday 18 July, 1pm – 7pm English National Ballet, live music across two stages, performances in the brand new Shoreditch Park amphitheatre, tea dances, theatre shows, Shoreditch Bark - dog show, bouldering competitions, children's area, a huge variety of stalls, catering and much more.

Sunday 19 July, 1pm – 7pm World in Motion presented by Shoreditch Trust, The Barbican and Guildhall School, a festival day created by young people for all people – featuring live music, dance, fashion and much more.

On the Wednesday 22 July, after the festival there's the Shoreditch Games: a cornucopia of sports and games for children and young people.

Throughout the festival, The LIFT (London International Festival of Theatre) an innovative, portable arts venue will again host a programme of events, shows and workshops in a state of the art portable performance space. Some performances in the LIFT will be ticketed, all other events are free entry.
