Shoreditch Festival 2007


The Shoreditch Festival takes place at a variety of venues from 4th - 18th August with one of the main events, the 1234SHOREDITCH free music festival, to be held on Sunday the 5th August 2007 in Shoreditch Park, London, E2.

It will showcase the area’s musical triumphs and innovation in recent years, featuring emerging new acts and musical movements. The event will also champion the now-wave and emerging talent of the area’s thriving dance and club scene such as Trailer Trash, Troubled Mind Soundsystem and Accelerated Youth.

The Main Stage (hosted by Queens of Noize) will be headlined by Har Mar Superstar. Other acts playing include Shy Child, The Paddingtons, The Whip, The Bishops, Man Like Me, Christine and Ali Love.

The Weekender Records Stage is hosted by Steve Harris (XfM), with Dogs, Eight Legs, The Lea Shores, Peoples Revolutionary Choir and more, while the Accelerated Youth Dance Stage features Gucci Soundsystem, Ulterior, Autokratz, Whitey (DJ set), Joe and Will Ask, Errorplains, and Lasse of The Rakes (DJ set). The Sensitive Youth New Bands stage will feature Selfish C*nt, Twisted Charm, Bono Must Die, Bolt Action Five, Lost Penguin, Methodist Centre, Adam Babyshambles (DJ set) and Hatcham Social.

Shoreditch Festival also features exhibitions, theatre and cabaret, dance and street arts, the finale being, Proms in Haggerston Park on Saturday 18th August from 7pm (open at 6pm).

Further 1234 music festival events in the UK are planned (in Manchester, Sheffield, Glasgow, Bristol) and in Europe (Berlin (White Trash), Paris (Showcase /Le Baron/Paris Paris), Barcelona (Razzamatazz/Poble Nou district), and Amsterdam (The Amsterdam Marcanti)).
