The Shoreditch Festival runs from the 5th through to the 20th of August. Contemporary artists, performers and entertainers will be on show at parks, gardens, streets, and historical buildings across Shoreditch.
The festival is produced by Shoreditch Trust, a community-led regeneration agency funded through the Department for Communities and Local Governments New Deal for Communities programme until 2010.
The festival opens with the 'Festival Parade', that celebrates everything that's Shoreditch using a variety of flamboyant costumes and carnival sculptures. It also incoporates dance and music from around the world including childrens choirs to African dance groups, basketball boys to flamenco, samba and puppetry, all showing off the extent of Shoreditch's vibrant community.
The majority of the events are FREE. The theme of this year's festival is journeys.
