Ryedale Folk Weekend 2012


Presenting four days of concerts, sessions, singarounds and a great selection of workshops.

Sponsored by Klondike Folk Arts and Festival on the Moor, dates for The Ryedale Folk Weekend have been announced as from Friday 25th until Monday 27th May 2012, the week before the bank holiday, at a new venue this year the New Inn and Cropton Brewery, near Pickering, North Yorskhire which has a capacity of 2,000.

Bill Adair, Polly Barrett, Beggars Bridge, Blind Panic, Blue Sun, Cruel Folk, Martin Curtis, Darkening Green, Steve Dawes & Helen Pitt, Nick Dow, Fools Gold, Bob Fortune, A Giant's Cause, Richard Grainger, Karnos Circus, Penni McLaren Walker, Chris Milner, Moorvoices Choir, The Old Dance School, Chris Parkinson, Quickthorn, Trevor Reed, Songcast, 4 Square, Stormcrow, The Tannahill Weavers, Peter Taylor, Steve Turner, Aroha 2 Aloha, Kern Morris, Step This Way, Darkley Circus.

Tickets

Early bird adult weekend tickets are priced at £35. Concessions (65 & over, unwaged, student) are priced at £30, and child tickets (for those aged 5-16 year) £15. Day tickets are also available priced at £20 for adults for Saturday or Sunday.

On site camping for adults/concessions is priced at £10 and for children (6-16) camping is priced at £5.

The weekend also offers singarounds, craft & music workshops, and an all day acoustic programme and real ale Bar.

The festival hopes to stage 'The Moorland Whalers' - a musical drama based on a young man's life in the Yorkshire Whaling Industry. As the famous Master Mariner, Naturalist and Whaling Captain, William Scoresby lived in Cropton.

New site

The new site offers additional camping space, a more extensive real ale bar, on-site festival food and even an a la carte menu in the New Inn.
