Garforth Arts Festival 2013


The ninth Garforth Arts Festival takes place from Monday 24th June to Saturday 6th July. There are more than 20 events taking place across 2 weeks, from gigs, to theatre, to dance and comedy so there is something for everyone.

Firmly established as a part of the city's annual cultural calendar, the festival brings a variety of music, dance, drama and comedy to the heart of Garforth.

Line up

The acts confirmed for the last day, The Playground Party, are Bellowhead, Kate Rusby, Ruby Turner, Lau, Eduardo Niebla, Love Society, Hope & Social, Garforth Jazz Rock Band, Zulu Tradition, and Phoenix Dance Theatre.

Tickets

A single ticket for The Playground Party is priced at £22 (£18 concession – under 16 or over 60), a family ticket is priced at £54 (2 adults & 2 children under 16 OR 1 adult & 3 children under 16). Under 5s go free when accompanied by a paying adult. To buy tickets now, click here.

During the two weeks running up to the Playground Party there are numerous other events and activities taking place, including Eduardo Niebla on Sunday 30th June in St Mary's Church, Garforth. Plus several gigs at the Garforth Working Men's Club such as Jacobean Ruff and support on Thursday 27th June, Hayley Gaftarnick and friends on Tuesday 2nd July and Hot Foot Powder performing the Beatles' album 'Please Please Me' on Thursday 4th July.

The Great Big Paint will involve hundreds of primary school children and other local people in cutting edge digital visual arts project using the virtual painting system FriiSpray. Everyone will create an image; these will then be combined in a video and screened around the town, in public spaces and onto buildings.

Accommodation

This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in the area.
