Musicians. And they're reliant on plenty of spectacle in order to entertain the crowds that they muster.

Doesn't live music normally sound a little different?
Listen to the live album then 😀

Your not into dance acts then.
They as general rule they don't interact with the crowd, and believe me, seeing the Chemical Brothers live on The Other Stage is nothing like staying at home listening to the record.
They're not performers - which is the word I used.
I've seen the Chemical Brothers live on the Other Stage.

If a performer isn't going to interact with crowd you might as well stay at home and listen to the record. One of the reasons that ELO d@bbed down in the Legends Slot is Jeff Lynne was too shy to do anything to gee up the crowd except give them the odd thumbs up.

I love that autocorrect “freeze peach”, or did you mean to type that? 😂
Deliberate. Seems to be becoming accepted slang for those who - inadvertently or otherwise - seem to have a raging throbber for ensuring that the fash get an equal hearing in the 'marketplace of ideas'.

Don't worry - the Comedy Unleashed tour is flying the flag for the 'I'm just saying what we're all thinking' demographic.
In an amazing coincidence, I've just this very moment walked by freeze peach enthusiast Andrew Doyle on my way up to the Pleasance Courtyard.

Has Grace Jones performed at Glastonbury before?
I've heard she's an extraordinary live act....
Someone confirmed recently shes been asked to play but turned it down due to not offering enough ££

Except for Butter by BTS, which is a belter.

The fact of her retirement doesn't dampen your expectations?

Something about the style of music - nostalgic, not too abrasive - suits the mood of the Sunday afternoon.
-
One of the main definitions of the legend slot is you couldn't really imagine the act playing anywhere else on the line up. The fact that Chic and Pulp both have and could easily show up elsewhere rules them out.
Whereas acts like Cher, the Spice Girls, Duran Duran, Manilow, etc have no real other home on the line up.

Apart from the actual legends that have already done it and accepted the Sunday afternoon slot?
In my mind Roachford is a legend and far more worthy of the legend slot than other so-called legends that they give the legends slot to.
But I dont care cos I get my ticket for free.

Yeah - none of the turn up for a wee wave business for GP. My man went baws deep. Legendary stuff.
Highlight was the attempt to edit together group hug with Scott and Charlene who obviously visited the set on a different day.

Self Esteem has some alright songs but definitely not worth the gushing praise currently heaped upon her.
Yeah - agreed. She's fine, good on her and all that but it largely leaves me cold. Went with the group to see her in the JPT and there's no doubt she totally smashed it - folk around me bawling their eyes out - but I still wasn't really drawn in.
-
While I tend to agree, let's not pretend it makes getting a ticket any easier.
-
I mean, fair enough. But he has similar songs to the above. So nit really sure why someone would be cool with Born To Run but not fuck with Thunder Road from the same album which is cut from the same cloth - and probably even better.
-
You realise there are still people posting on here all weekend?
A lot of people looking at their phone will messaging friends about where to meet or who to see next - or just laughing at a photo someone's just sent them of them meeting Michael in NYC Downlow.

Yes but how many artists can do that with one or two album? For a whole headliner set?
Stormzy and Oasis both headlined on one album.
-
Adele and Taylor have this much in common - by this time next year they'll both have smashed it headlining the Pyramid.

I know the music is created in the moment - but YMMV on how much of a difference them waving their hands in the air makes to the overall experience.
