Wow that's disappointing, I know it's different here to Europe but none of them are stick on headliners here.
Know you can't....I'd rather they didn't as it's dull.
Personally it was a very good too line for me last year but as said it made it overall not great.
I can't go so it's beneficial for me that it stays bad.
Why is it beneficial for you? If you're not going, what do you care how the lineup is?

I think they were rumoured for last year because they only played in Vorst whilst I think they can fill Sportpaleis but I reckon they wanted to headline a day on their own and I don't think RW agreed with that or something.
Next up, The XX for after Nick Cave, I guess? And then it's almost December already with the possible PJ announcement rumoured. I hope they're gonna announce a few more names because 5/6 names going into the winterbreak is a bit to little I think? Normally they've like 10 ish names announced or so, no?
Green Day would of course headline on their own, like they did in 2010 and 2013 and like they do all over the world.
I don't get this the XX hype. They are far from popular here in Iceland and when I saw them in 2012 at RW it was one of the worst shows I've ever seen. @Dietediet how popular are The XX in Belgium? Would they headline you think? -

They have to do with what's touring though. Bar PJ I don't see a lot of acts the size of Metallica/McCartney/Foos/etc for the moment.
True....
Green Day hasn't been in the mix, you guys think they could do some European festivals next summer? I know they're touring S-America now.....and have a new "best of" album out -
I'm very happy with that Thursday. I absolutely love Queens of the Stone Age and I think Gorillaz will be a good party. I just hope they don't do the same mistake with QOTSA as they did with Arcade Fire this year, have them play too early and while it's still bright.....

I think we're still missing a headliner, at least a co-headliner, on the Thursday. RW have always had a strong headliner and a dance-act after since I started going in 2009....except this year when we had two strong co-headliners...
2009: Oasis - The Prodigy
2010: Muse - Faithless
2011: QOTSA - Linkin Park - The Chemical Brothers
2012: The Cure - Justice
2013: Green Day - Netsky Live
2014: Metallica - Skrillex
2015: Foo Fighters* - The Chemical Brothers
2016: Paul McCartney - Disclosure
2017: Arcade Fire - King of Leon
*Foo Fighters canceled and Faith no More played instead, but majority of the tickets (all?) were sold when people thought Foos was headlining. -

Well chuffed with Gorillaz. Probably the late night slot? Like 1-3am?
My guess is after a "new" headliner like an instance Queens of the Stone Age....or The Killers
-
I'm not really a fan, but I've never seen them so I'm quite happy with this announcement. We think this is a dance-act, not a real headliner?
-
I think it's save to assume we'll get another name tomorrow. Anyone care to take a guess? I'll start and say Queens of the Stone Age

He played before Volbeat and Rammstein because he wouldn't get squeezed between the two rockbands and their crowds who would probably camp out for Rammstein after Volbeat through Nick Cave.
In 2009, Kings Of Leon headlined and 2ManyDJ's were the dance act for that day, so he basically subbed that day.
I mean you may not like his music, that's fine but saying that this is a bad booking or announcement is just ignorant, the dude is at the peak of his career selling out Sportpaleis in under 2h is fast.. He'll probably co-headline with some dancey closer (The XX?) or something.
Where did I say this was a bad booking? I even said that I've seen him three times and that I thought he was great. The only thing I've said is that I don't think he's big enough to headline....but as a sub I'm thrilled. I think you got me confused with someone else...
And he was kind of a sub in 2013 also as Volbeat got moved from the Thursday later on. At first, it was Nick Cave and then Rammstein.....

I've seen him three times, he's great....just not big enough to headline imo

If this Pearl Jam tour rumor is to be believed then Pearl Jam will play after Nick Cave......

Nick Cave is an acquired taste and personally I’m not a fan. A very strange choice to announce as a first name unless he’s a lot more popular in Belgium than he is in UK
He played before Volbeat and Rammstein in 2013 and before Kings of Leon and 2ManyDJ's in 2009....

This is strange. They've always announced huge headliner first.....problem with headliners this year?

In term of popularity in Belgium, I think Pearl Jam isn't bigger than Gorillaz, XX or Depeche Mode. I understand that this band is very popular in Uk and in the Us but I'm not sure that this band will bring much people than expected. The best headliners : Arctic Monkeys, Green Day, Depeche Mode/The XX, QOTSA. But it's only my taste
You don't think Pearl Jam is big in Belgium? They headlined in 2007, 2010, 2012 and 2014. I'd think it's pretty save to say they are huge in Belgium.
Gorillaz have never played RW (I think). QOTSA did not headline last time they played in 2011, The XX did not headline last time they played in 2012 and Depeche Mode did not headline last time they played in 2013. Can you please tell me again why you don't think Pearl Jam are bigger then these bands in terms of popularity?- 1

You've just assume that everybody know its about Pearl Jam right?
By the way, I would love to finish the festival with Pearl Jam bcoz that way you have the best act to wait for all weekend so I hope its true.
Haha, yes sorry....I thought everybody would know "10c" but that's not necessarily the case My bad....but yes, it's about PEARL JAM

This is probably fake but I thought I'd put it in here anyway....

When do tickets go on sale generally?
First names usually come out in November/December and tickets go on sale shortly after that......
Rock Werchter 2018

What about bands like Deftones, Marilyn Manson and Volbeat. Sure all must be likely for Graspop, but we can't rule them out for RW....especially Volbeat who would most likely headline GMM and GMM probably have all their headliners by now...
