Boomtown Fair 2018  - Chapter 10 - at Matterley Estate, nr. Winchester, in Hampshire from Thursday 9th until Sunday 12th August 2018 has announced the first of its individual districts, area and stage line-ups.

Billed as a festival-within-a-festival Whistlers Green harks back to the roots of festival culture with folk and jazz and more, and with the grassroots movements that found a space within them, political activism, ethical and organic food production,  healing and alternative medicine, yoga, meditation, veganism, forest school outdoor adventure education, and the local Farmers’ Market. As well as space for discussion and proactive thought in the Speakers’ Corner and the inspiring and adventurous Kidztown area with its very own interactive street set and activities for all ages.

Headlining the Windmill Stage are Maribou StateBilal, and Jah Wobble and The Invaders of the Heart, who are joined by Zara McFarlaneBlack Acre Takeover: Romare Full Live Band, Clap! The Floating Lotus Stage has Wildwood Kin, William Crighton, Nerina Pallot, CW Jones, Young Waters, CoCo and the Butterfields, Chiminyo, The Ash Walker Experience, Gecko, Zach Said, China Bowls, Huw Eddy And The Carnival, Iyamah, Roots Rising, Cable Street Collective, Gentlemen Of Few, Lion Art (Acoustic), True Strays, Feelgood Experiment, Jackson, Almatic, Alex & The Salty Sea Dogs, Hexcut, Easy Stride Band, Key Lime Pi, Rob Barnaville, and Phosphenes.

Whisters Green also houses Kidztown, with hands on craft and circus workshops, storytelling, puppetry, comedy and face painting, through to the skate ramp, bouncy castle and Forest School.  Designed by youth experts to encourage a sense of adventure, curiosity and creativity, this interactive space also includes baby and toddler tents, and its own relaxing main stage, Sandcastle stage.  With PG rated bands from across the festival and hand picked entertainment, it meets even the most discerning mini Boomer’s musical and entertainment needs! 

In addition to the activities and workshops on offer in Kidztown, there are workshops that extend to adults too, including blacksmithing, jewellery making, silversmithing, chainsaw carving, willow weaving, chocolate making and rubber bike belt workshops.  The healing gardens are a stone’s throw away with massage, aromatherapy, yoga, mediation and star gazing to name just few alternative pastimes to indulge in.

This is just one district line up of nine unique district line-ups, along with four mega stage line-ups still to be released. 

Tickets for 2018 are on sale, priced at £216 a ticket + £7.50 Booking Fee + £10 EcoBond = £233.50. A number of coach travel plus entrance ticket packages are also available, from a big number of locations around the country.
