Now in its 10th year BoomTown Fair is a music, arts and family festival that takes place at Matterley Estate, nr. Winchester, Hampshire, and will run from Thursday 9th until Sunday 12th August 2018, with Wednesday opening (Wednesday ticket required) for those travelling by more-efficient means.

The main stage line-up will consist of ska and party bands from around the world, with the other live music stages offering cabaret, gypsy, folk, reggae, dub and country and western. Plus loads of cabaret, comedy, spoken word, a range of stages, an anarchist theatre, lots of site art and many areas to explore with plenty of catering options, all the normal facilities you'd expect at a festival and a massive emphasis on eco-friendly initiatives. All attendees are encouraged to dress up in fancy dress, the fancier the better!

Confirmed acts include Gorillaz (with a UK exclusive show) plus Die Antwoord, Limp Bizkit, Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, Jimmy Cliff, Amadou & Mariam, Sleaford Mods, Enter Shikari, Skatalites, Morcheeba, Goldie & The Heritage Ensemble, Soul II Soul, Spice, Shy Fx Presents: Cult.ure, Groundation, Billy Bragg, Maribou State, Omar Souleyman, Dubioza Kolektiv, Fishbone, Nadine Shah, The Selecter, Bilal, Jah Wobble's Invaders Of The Heart, Fantastic Negrito, The Herbaliser, Stereo MC's, Dead Kennedys, and loads more.

Activities & Workshops

Boomtown has over 100 activities and workshops, from crafts and skills such as blacksmithing, copper beating & chainsaw carving, circus skills workshops and play, to the mind & soul improving, to dance and yoga.

There's also a full programme for kids, with circus skills, workshops and crafts, science and learning and play and facepainting, and much more, plus a dedicated family camping area. Those aged 12 and under are free.

Eco bond

To keep the site free from litter, Boomtown offer festivalgoers an eco bond initiative to help keep the streets of BoomTown tidy. Ticket purchasers will be asked to pay an additional £10 eco bond deposit. On arrival at the festival attendees will be given a 'boomtown eco bag'. Organisers ask everyone to fill this bag with all their rubbish and hand it back into one of the drop off points for recycling, and have their £10 deposit returned.
