The second annual Frome Folk Festival due to take place at The Cheese and Grain, Frome in Somerset over two days on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th February has been cancelled for this year due to lack of available headline acts.

A statement from organisers says:
"With the disappointment of a few headliners availability and the wish to uphold the quality of the Festival and not to offer a programme that doesn't suit the ticket price, we have taken the decision to postpone the event to ensure the long-term viability and quality of the weekend.

Our volunteers and staff have been working tirelessly behind the scenes for the past year to make a go of the 2013 event but it is now apparent that it is infeasible.

We are already planning interim events throughout 2013 in Frome to keep the folk flowing and hope to see you all in 2014
."
Acts previously announced for Frome included Jim Moray, Luke Jackson, Phillip Henry & Hannah Martin, Solarference, Reg Meuross, Amy Wadge & Pete Riley, Sam Kelly, Phil King, The Longest Johns, The Willows, Dave Garner & Alan Doyle, Lucy Ward, Belinda O'Hooley & Heidi Tidow, Gerhard Creese, Gigspanner, Coppin Silver, The Young'Uns, and Monster Ceilidh Band, and more than 100 Morris dancers.
