eleven new additions for Sonisphere

Glassjaw, and Hundred Reasons are among the eleven new additions for Sonisphere set to return for its fourth year at Knebworth House, Hertfordshire next year from Friday 6th to Sunday 8th July 2012 with three days of heavy rock and entertainment.

Both bands will be playing albums in their entirety at this year's festival. Glassjaw will perform their 'Worship & Tribute' album exclusively, and Hundred Reasons will perform 'Ideas Above Our Station' in full in the Bohemia tent on the Friday. Reasons guitarist Larry Hibbitt said, "We are galactically excited to be playing Sonisphere Festival 2012. It's been way too long and we can't wait to get back to doing exactly what we do best. See you at the front."

Making exclusive appearances at this year's Sonisphere will be Seether on the Saturn Stage on Sunday, Black Stone Cherry who make their Sonisphere debut on the Apollo stage on the Friday, Electric Wizard, and Norwegians Kvelertak make their return with their only UK show of 2012 on Sunday in Bohemia.

Taking to the Saturn stage on Saturday will be Skindred, New Model Army will play a special late night set on Friday night in boemia after headliners Kiss wrap up the Apollo stage. Crowbar, and Alestorm will open the Saturn stage on Saturday.

Aussies The Getaway Plan are first band to be announced for the Red Bull Jam Stage, and will take to the stage on Saturday. "To be able to say that we are a part of the Sonisphere festival this year is an absolute honour." Says frontman Matthew Wright. "This is going to be our first time to the UK and our first ever show outside of Australia. We're over the fucking moon!"

The headliners are confirmed as Kiss, Queen with Adam Lambert, and Faith No More.
Also confirmed and playing their only UK shows of 2012 are Within Temptation, Evanescence, Incubus, Marilyn Manson, and The Blackout.

Other acts including The Darkness are also confirmed.

The event has one main arena with a stage at either end of the site, as well as a few smaller stages. The two main outdoor stages, will have around a dozen acts alternating between one stage and another to keep the music continuous, whilst not having two acts playing at the same time.

This year there is a non-refundable deposit scheme of £50 on booking and pay the balance by 1st May 2012.

Ticket are priced at £145 for a weekend ticket (£180 with 4-day camping, £170 with 3-day camping), with a very limited number of day tickets available for £75. Rock Royalty and Day VIP packages as also available.

Organisers are offering a limited number of free tickets to Sonisphere Madrid (which takes place 25th and 26th May) when a weekend ticket for Sonisphere Knebworth is bought. Headliners Metallica - who play their Black album in its entirety - are joined by an impressive cast featuring the likes of Soundgarden, Slayer, Children Of Bodom, Kyuss Lives and many more - that's two Sonisphere festivals for the price of one!

Family tickets are also available and include access to the family campsite which has its own shower and toilet provision. They also have access to Fort Knebworth adventure playground. Each person over the age of 12 must have their own individual family ticket.

Families are also able to buy standard tickets and receive the same level of access for their child if aged 12 or under free of charge but will not then be able to access the family facilities.

A campervan pass is priced at £55, a locker is priced at £14, and a car park ticket is priced at £10, or £20 on the day.

The two main Apollo and Saturn stages of Sonisphere are always timed to ensure there's no clashes, so no one need miss any of the acts scheduled over the weekend. There are no acts confirmed for the line-up which will also include an array of other late night entertainment, attractions and on-site events alongside the fairground rides, stalls, DJs, Discos and cinema.

The line-up also includes Tim Minchin, Evanescence, Incubus, Within Temptation, Marilyn Manson, Wolfmother, The Darkness, Cypress Hill, Refused, Mastodon, Gojira, Flogging Molly, Fields Of The Nephilim, Lacuna Coil, The Blackout, Andrew W.K., Ghost, I Killed The Prom Queen, Switchfoot, and Katatonia, with many more yet to be revealed.
