St Etienne will make their only UK performance this year as headliners at The Apple Cart Festival, a new festival takes place at Shoreditch Park, London on Sunday 25th July.

St Etienne
Joining St Etienne on the initial line-up announcement are Gilles Peterson, Edwyn Collins, Steve Mason, Clinic, Shappi Khorsandi, Josie Long, Kevin Bridges, and Doc Brown.

Combining music, comedy, art, cinema, magic, and spoken word, The Apple Cart bills itself as a diverse festival that welcomes everyone to it's kaleidoscopic, colourful playground, designed to bring out the kid that's hidden in us all.

Tom Baker of Eat Your Own Ears and Marcus Weedon (two of the partners behind London's Field Day and the Underage Festival) have teamed up with Off The Kerb's Laughing Boy Comedy Club, members of The Magic Circle, Turner Winning artists Gavin Turk and Deborah Curtis' The House Of Fairy Tales and The London Word Festival to bring this new addition to the UK festival calendar.

Tom Baker, of Eat Your Own Ears (Music) announced, "The Apple Cart gives you an exciting mix of events that are inspiring, fun and creative for families; music; comedy; magic and art lovers all in central London's Shoreditch Park."

An adult ticket is priced at £33, a teen ticket (aged 13-17 years) is priced at £15, with 12s and under able to attend for free (but still need a ticket). To buy tickets, click here.

The House Of Fairy Tales established by the artists Deborah Curtis and Gavin Turk, is a child-centred artist led project which draws on an extensive team of artists, performers, writers, educationalists, designers, musicians, film makers, dreamers and philosophers to create magical, parallel worlds where learning is play and play is directed learning. The House Of Fairy Tales is about making education inclusive, inventive and fun.

The Apple Cart will host a stage curated by members of the renowned magicians club The Magic Circle, who will provide a host of other worldly entertainment and magic for kids. The line-up includes performances from comic magician Christian Lee, and John Van Der Put. Family workshops include a chocolate making event and an on-going puppet workshop. With Hula Boy and Lunatic Scientists also on the daytime bill.

The London Word Festival will be bringing games, fun, mates, top quality DIY comedy and perhaps a giant inflatable board game. Other performances include Shakespeare in Shoreditch, two young authors whose interpretations are given a sharp local twist, and The Chip Shop, a fully functioning temporary screen printing workshop, replicating a full size chippy, serving up words printed on wooden board, conceived, built and manned by Henningham Family Press. With more contributions from Francesca Millican-Slater, Hannah Silva, and many others still to be announced.

The site will be dressed in irreverent style and will feature high-end catering from cherry picked traders from London's best markets, Borough, Broadway and Venn Street market. There will be a host of suitable amenities for those with children of any age.
