Glastonbury Festival organisers have confirmed a few details of their new licence including confirming that the car parks will now open at 9pm on the Tuesday night before the Festival, allowing Festivalgoers to arrive throughout the night.

eFestivals exclusively revealed that the new licence for changes to the licensing conditions had been granted by Mendip District Council, with the new licence covering the Festival until 2016, with 2012 as a fallow year.

Following the approval of the new licence, Festival organisers have now revealed a few changes at the Festival. The car parks will now open at 9pm on the Tuesday night before the Festival, however there will be no entertainment or facilities in the car parks and Festival-goers will be expected to remain in their cars until the Festival gates open at 8am on Wednesday morning (an hour earlier than in previous years).

Organisers have also confirmed there will be no camping permitted in the car parks. As in 2009, there will be no amplified entertainment on the Wednesday, with the main music stages not kicking off until Friday.

Other confirmed changes include:

The Festival's capacity will remain the same, however there will be significantly more camping and parking space.

Late night entertainment areas The Shangri-la and Arcadia will be given increased space and have better access.

The volume of the Pyramid Stage headline performances will be increased.

The Kidz Field will now open on Thursday at 12noon (a day earlier than previously).

Tickets have sold out for this year's Glastonbury Festival which runs for five full days from Wednesday 23rd until Sunday 27th June 2010 across over a 1,000 acres of beautiful countryside at Worthy Farm, Somerset. eFestivals believes the next sale of tickets will be sometime from the beginning of March, we will of course keep you updated of any news in the meantime.

Only headliners U2, and Jack Johnson, plus breaking talent My Luminaire, and John E Vistic are confirmed for the Festival. eFestivals will bring you the very best-sourced rumours between now and the official line-up announcement at the end of May/beginning of June, allowing festival-goers to see who is playing long before the bands are formally announced - keep your eyes on the Glastonbury 2010 rumours, updated as we receive information.
