The Rolling Stones have confirmed that they will not be touring in 2010 making an appearance at this summer's Glastonbury Festival unlikely.
The band have taken the surprising step of confirming they are not touring following media and industry rumours about the band possibly mounting a tour that was reportedly set to be made public in April.
The band are notorious for performing at extremely few festivals. The band were heavily rumoured to be playing in 2003 at Glastonbury Festival during that event's build-up, and the last UK festivals they have performed at were The Isle Of Wight in 2007 and Knebworth Fair in 1976.
The band announcing that they will not be touring in 2010 makes a one off appearance at the 40th Anniversary of Glastonbury Festival unlikely.
Tickets have sold out for this summer's Festival which runs for five full days from Wednesday 23rd until Sunday 27th June 2010 across a 1,000 acres of beautiful countryside at Worthy Farm, Somerset. There will be no more tickets on sale until later this year.
As usual eFestivals will bring you the very best-sourced rumours between now and the official line-up announcement at the end of May/beginning of June, allowing festival-goers to see who is playing long before the bands are formally announced - keep your eyes on the Glastonbury 2010 rumours, updated as we receive information.
