Announcing the result Mr Eavis also declared that all twelve of the acts who had competed over the two days would also be offered a chance to perform somewhere at the Glastonbury Festival which takes place for five full days from Wednesday 24th until Sunday 28th June 2009 at Worthy Farm, Pilton, Somerset have already sold out months before the event.

The decision was unanimous from the judges, who included Michael and Emily Eavis from the Festival, Huw Stephens from BBC Radio One and music journalists from the Q stable.

"The whole weekend went really, really well," said Emily Eavis. "It was a particularly high standard this year and I'm really pleased that all 12 of the finalists will be playing at the Festival."
Glastonbury Festival has been running the competition to find the greatest Emerging Talent for the last four Festivals. Previous competitions have brought bands like Golden Silvers, The Subways, and Scouting For Girls to Festival prominence.

This year's competition entrants were all musicians not signed to a major label, based in the UK and Ireland. All twelve of the finalists will be performing at the Queen's Head venue at the festival on Thursday 25th June.

eFestivals will have reviews and pictures of all the competing acts online shortly.

A further release of a limited number of cancelled tickets will go on sale from 9am on Sunday 5th April 2009, although in order to do so you must have registered beforehand to be eligible to buy a ticket. However, it's unlikely that they'll be a huge number of tickets available on that day. They will be priced at £175 (plus a booking fee of £5).
