Big Chill confirms El Guincho, The Grid, Frightened Rabbit, and more

The Big Chill held from Friday 1st until Sunday 3rd August at Eastnor Castle in Herefordshire has confirmed more artists for the line-up and additional entertainment for the media mix tent.

This year the main stage sees the addition of Johannesburg rock dubbers BLK JKS, and electronic dance outfit The Grid.

Playing elsewhere at Eastnor will be the Spanish artist El Guincho, Bristol based acoustic band Spiro, and Scottish Indie rock band Frightened Rabbit.

The club tent sees two new additions with after hours sessions from DJ and producer Ben Mynott with his ambient project Fluidnation, and ambient space techno from Mixmaster Morris.

Confirmed for the media mix tent is Onedotzero who bring new films including wow + flutter, terrain, wavelength, Bloom Films, Hexstatic remix and Richard Fenwick's User Guides Series. The Future Loop Foundation will also present the short film The Fading Room and Handgun.

The media mix tent will also play host to the Halloween Society who will present Spork performing a live soundtrack to the Russian film 'A Sister's kiss', as well as the intriguingly named Wierding Vessel & Terror.

Other musical performers already confirmed for the festival include Leonard Cohen, Bomb The Bass, Fujiya & Miyagi, Roisin Murphy, Alabama 3 (acoustic), Bill Bailey, Jilted John, Plaid, Rachel Unthank & the Winterset, Trentemøller, Buzzcocks, Hot 8 Brass Band, Fat Freddy's Drop, The Mighty Boosh, Norman Jay, Portico Quartet, Thievery Corporation, Random Dance, Shaanti Sound System with DJ Krush, DJ Manga, DJ Joe Claussell, and Benji B, Roots Manuva & DJ MK, DJ Luke Vibert, DJ Vadim,Daedalus, DJ Joe Claussell (Body & Soul, NY), Ron Trent (Chicago), Ame (Germany, Sonar Kollectiv), Rap Saunders, and Kartel DJs. On-site facilities include a shop selling groceries & newspapers, bars, food stalls, merchandise stalls, cash point machine and a 24 hour cafe amongst other things. Alcohol cannot be brought into the main arena but is permitted in the camping areas (but NO GLASS!).

An adult ticket is priced at £129, Student tickets are £110 (with Amnesty International membership, for full-time students only), with Teen (or children's tickets) priced at £60. To buy tickets click here. Note that the event is for 18's and over unless accompanied by an adult.
