Martin Elbourne who assists Michael and Emily Eavis with booking the bands at Glastonbury Festival has confirmed, whilst talking to eFestivals, that The John Peel Stage at the Festival is to double in size.

Elbourne, who said he had pretty much finalised bookings for The Other Stage and was now concentrating on acts for the stage, named in honour of the late Radio 1 DJ, added that the plan also included, "More of a market area to fill the 'dead space' around the Stage so that it is more integrated into the whole festival."

He also confirmed that organisers are hoping to erect a big screen outside the tent for festival goers to watch the performing acts.

If you've registered for Glastonbury, then why not enter the eFestivals' competition to win yourself a pair of tickets here.

To get the best idea of the acts you'll see over all the stages at the festival in June make sure you keep an eye on our Glastonbury 2008 rumours, which will build up into the most comprehensive list available anywhere before the full line-up announcement is made at the beginning of June.

Don't forget that those wanting to buy a ticket to this year's festival will need to register their details at http://www.glastonburyregistration.co.uk between 9am on Friday 1st February and midnight on Friday 14th March. This year anyone who registers to buy tickets can tick a box to ensure that their details are also available for the 2009 and 2010 festivals. Tickets for Glastonbury will go on sale on 6 April, either online or through a free phone call from a normal landline.

Glastonbury Festival 2008 will take place at Worthy Farm, Pilton, near Glastonbury, Somerset from Friday 27th to Sunday 29th June, with the gates opening for early arrivals on Wednesday 25th June.
