The whacking great scar down my right ankle from where I smashed it up in the mud on the Big Ground is celebrating its 10th birthday this year…

Actually love the undercard - some absolute gems. But apart from The National I’ll struggle for (music) headliners.
Plenty to do in theatre/circus though!

Hey lovely, think we're with the same Berks/Hants based charity though!
Yes, I think we are - but I the email they sent is standard wording from the festival, and I think it's the wrong way round! We should be paying £150 as our donation and the ticket cost is a security deposit that we get back. I think someone in the festival office has got it confused! Have emailed Fiona at the Festival to check (but may not get a reply until next year, I realise, as she's always super busy!)

I'm actually gobsmacked that you are paying anything to volunteer! That's not how volunteering works - you pay with your time.
I'm aware Festaff charge a small admin fee for some reason or another - I'm not sure why the admin cost doesn't come from their profits though, being a profit making company and not a charity.
The £150 is a charity donation, though. It goes to the charity I work for, not to GFL. Last year (and every other year I've worked) it's been £150 to charity + the cost of a ticket as a refundable security bond. I'm therefore assuming someone's sent the email wrongly. Or they're taking the piss.

I'd raise that directly with the recycling crew - sounds like the charity are trying to pull a fast one here.
My charity sent me the exact same wording, so it's obviously the standard message from the Festival.
I'm not entirely sure why we're being charged the same price as a ticketholder, TBH, and have queried it, as I'd expect it to be the other way round (as in, get the £355 back and the £150 is the cost to attend) as it was in previous years.

Has anyone heard anything regarding recycling crew The website is back up
thanks
We paid our deposits to our charity today. I think the 'direct' recycling crew is a bit later.

Yes, when I was local. It’s lovely!

Done - best of luck!
I think you might find you need an older ‘oldest’ group though! You’ve fallen for the assumption that most festival goers are young…

Backstage at Acoustic, because it’s run by a load of folk who run one of the best pubs in Stroud.
Loved the Open Arms, but the Avalon Inn will always win just for the ridiculous novelty of going upstairs.

Basically, Rick won Glastonbury this year, didn’t he?
Exactly this.
I don’t think I’ve seen a performer enjoy themselves so comprehensively since Lionel Richie did his entire set with a massive grin on his face.
Nothing short of Arise, Sir Rick is good enough as far as I’m concerned.

Not overheard, but overseen - a bloke in high - vis pushing a wheelbarrow at quite the urgent pace up Muddy Lane. Said wheelbarrow contained a single toilet roll.

As I've since mentioned three times, this was aimed squarely at people sitting in the front pit of condensed shows. I appreciate I didn't make that very clear in my original message, so apologise for any ill judged intent, but it does feel a touch of common sense to assume I'm not bothered by people who sit at the back of a crowd
You’ve learned a good lesson today then.

The sitters make me physically irate, to the stage where I stopped avoiding them when trying to pass - if my feet catch you on the way through, stand up.
It's funny, because ableist, judgmental assholes make me irate.

Best: No Bones Jones, the Paletas ice lollies, and the really good halloumi wrap from the place called CHEESE near Williams Green.
Honourable Mentions: chicken burrito from the Mexican Cantina, chicken burger from the place next to Bath Organic Farms (William’s Green).
Worst: absolutely sh*t, soggy, pizza from
the stall opposite the Open Arms. It tasted like a £1 value one from a supermarket, and I told them so.

I don't understand why this happens year after year. It totally spoils the Park stage atmosphere and makes it hard to listen to a lot of acts.
Surely that person responsible for the Park area is aware of this - as everyone else is.
Yep, it’s been terrible for years. Really puts me off going up there, which is a shame as it’s a lovely part of the site otherwise with a great lineup.

Overheard, near the food stalls at Williams Green, where loud music is playing at the Meeting Place Bar. A couple with a child about four in a trolley.
Woman: Ugh! Simon! Put the ear defenders on her please!
Simon: Why? It’s not that loud?
Woman: No, I don’t want her hearing this song…
The song?? Bill Wyman’s Si, Si, Je Suis Un Rockstar…

no a funny but i overhead a couple talking excitedly about having met joe wicks. every time he tried to wrap up the convo and move onto something else she'd find something else to say about joe.
Someone on my litterpicking team talked about nothing else but Joe Wicks all weekend. Obsessed!

what does syndicated mean ? I presume ive got no chance of getting it removed have I as i signed up for that with tickets i think ... no signs of the scum or mail using it thankfully
It means the photographer who took the photo sold it to Alamy, an agency that newspapers use to buy photos.

Sound bleed from Stonebridge to the Park is ludicrous. It was even a problem during the Pretenders, FFS, so how it works for gentler acts is behind me.

That rain’s hardly touched the sides. It’ll be dry in a couple of hours.

Last nights rain was loud enough to wake me up in my house, but by the time I emerged for coffee this morning, everything is bone dry again. My lawn appears to be a tiny bit greener, but that could be my imagination 🙂
I'm going to have to water the garden this evening. The soil is just sucking up any iota of rain we get and it's bone dry again now after a big soaking this morning.
