According to Gabi Ruiz, on the Primavera forums, there are still some artists to be announced, including:
2 names from hip hop (1 is a headliner (from the USA, first record from mid-90's, has won a lot of awards)
2 names more from ATP (one much requested, the other unknown as a band but illustrious in formation)
Some other names for the rest of the stages (between them another headliner)
However, apparently the whole process of booking bands this year has been very stressful for him (apparently one headliner dropped out just before the press conference (could this be Jane's Addiction? - it would explain their appearance on the poster), so all this will happen only if things don't become too complicated. Otherwise, he feels that they already have sufficient names and the others can wait for next year.
Jay Z fits the description for the headline hip hopper and he's doing a lot of festivals in Europe this summer (totally not my thing, but with all the good stuff that's going on in the rest of the line-up, I don't think it will be hard to arrange to be elsewhere!). Modest Mouse is being suggested on the Primavera forums as the much requested act from ATP. Apparently, we shouldn't have to wait too long for some more announcements!

Stonehenge itself is under the control of English Heritage, although I think the festival is run by a committee of people who work alongside English Heritage.
-
It looks as if Jane's Addiction are touring the Australian festivals at the moment, so they're definitely a possible additional headliner. I'm personally quite surprised not to see Iggy and the Stooges in this latest list of artists!

i went last year for the metallica day and it was a fantastic festival, incredibly well organized, if any problems arose, like the bottleneck situation that occured with the toilets the organizers were on it straight away. Atmosphere was the best i've seen at any festival

Charlatans - excelente!

They will be onsale on the day aswell.

Hey am I able to buy tickets for the Friday alone or are you only able to buy weekend ones?
I'd like to catch them crooked vultures and Acdc then get a bus back to Glasgow overnight, can't seem to find day tickets though and national express only return on the Monday! Arrrgh.
-
Does anyone know when day tickets will go on sale? If RATM are announced as a headliner, we wanna be there, but not sure if we can afford to go for the whole weekend!
-
Mr PC thinks maybe Neville Staple - actually, he's not English, but you wouldn't know that unless you Wikipedia him - most of the rest of the description would fit and he is playing at least one festival in the UK during May.
-
I thought Edwyn Collins was Scottish!
-
So let's get this right... First you have to register by producing a perfect passport photo that passes the Seetickets test, then you have to get on-line on Wednesday morning before the site crashes, then you get put into a lottery for tickets? So much for having a free gig that everyone can go to! This isn't free - it's jumping through multiple hoops! We'll give it a try - but I, personally, hold very little hope!
-
Hummmm - Pete Wylie fits the bill and also possibly Pete Murphy....... I've got Mr PC onto the problem now - so he'll be thinking on it all night and probably into the weekend - he likes a mental challenge does Mr PC (and he knows his music)!
-
The only English artist I can think of that went solo in 1985 is Sting (oh no! ) but Mr PC reckons it could be Julian Cope - which sounds a bit more like it! Regarding the 3 connected bands, how about PIXIES - BREEDERS - THROWING MUSES? No! That sounds tooooo good to be true!

Something about an artist with ’90 million’ album sales!
I’m all confused. I think my translator has gremlins.
-
If it is Phil Collins it is a waste of a headliner.. but if they do the same thing as they did with Neil Young and shut down all the other stages then I'll have to use the opportunity to get some cheaper off site drinking done or something.

The Primavera forum-admin (and also booker) posted this on the forum today:
Músico inglés nacido en la década de los 50 que este año cumple 25 años de carrera en solitario.
I'm not sure but I think he's talking about the 3rd headliner because he was asked to give some hints before.
So an English singer in his 50s that celebreates his 25th year on stage in 2010. The guys on the Primavera forum guessed either Morrissey or Phil Colins. What do you think?
I guess it could be Nick Cave, that would be great.
-
Yep, 3rd headliner still tba. Iggy Pop, Bob Dylan, Faith No More, Nick Cave are among the rumours (as far as I get what the guys at the Primavera forum mean).

rumours say it will be grizzly bear and built to spill.

Which hostel did you book?

A lot of people now seem to think that we can look forward to some more of the acts booked for Coachella:
check it out here: http://www.coachella.com/
which makes for some exciting possibilites! PiL are one band that I've never seen live but would like to, and Gossip are brilliant live - to name a couple!
Also, apparently, one of the organisers has said that one of the headliners still to be announced is on the Coachella bill, will really excite some people, but would be unlikely to sell many tickets!?!?!
Anyway, we've just booked our hostel in Barcelona for the weekend of the festival (having taken the advice of the rest of the guys here!) - so we're starting to get excited!
-
No, I think that the 3rd headliner is going to be a "legend" like Neil Young in 2009, Patti Smith in 2007 or Lou Reed in 2006
-
I’m getting all confused, who is the third headliner, is it Orbital?, or still to be announced?
Pavement – Pixies – Orbital?

There is a bus that goes between Nottingham and Loughborough that actually stops at East Midlands Airport - not sure of the number - it may be the No. 1, although I'm pretty sure it doesn't run 24 hours a day.
