I wouldn't be standing on the bit around the seat in a long drop, you could fall in.
-
I used to really like them, they're a good live act and they have some great songs but their recent stuff all sounds the same to me, boring shite that I can't be bothered listening to. I'm not sure how popular they'd be at Glasto.
-
Got Glasgow tickets, I tried at 08:59 and they were on sale.
I just need to get an outfit sorted now. I'm thinking nice dress, heels and a masquerade mask.
-
what men do you know that queue up to use a longdrop to piss, when there is urinals next to it?
women are the main problem with this issue. Accept it.

Hovering to avoid an already filthed seat is relatively sane - it's incredible the mess some folk will leave and it's not always easily cleaned
-
Listened to the new album today, I like it, it's a bit different for them but also seems very Arcade Fire if that makes sense. The previous two albums were growers but I did end up loving them, I think this one will be the same. I'm definitely trying for tickets tomorrow.

I can't help but admire people who still manage to sneak in despite having the super fence now.
If I didn't get a ticket, I'd probably apply to work it as long as I could find some slightly enjoyable work with decent shifts. If I couldn't get any work or didn't like the sound of the work available, I'd go on holiday during Glasto. I'd be gutted but there are other festivals and other years if you miss out.

I think there's a bit of confusion over what hovering is. On the odd occasion that I have to hover over the toilet at Glasto, my feet are on the ground, and I hold on to the bottom of the door. I have never pissed on a toilet seat, I don't know how people can't aim properly when hovering. It must look odd from the outside when people are looking for feet to see if the long drop is occupied, and they see a small hand holding onto the door.
Feet on either side of the seat, that's squatting, and it's mental. I don't know why people do it.
-
I must have had to clean the seat first on about 90% of the loos I used this year - it's the one thing about Glastonbury that really winds me up. Sit down FFS!
-
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought the bus seemed much busier this year. It was far too crowded for my liking, and not really suitable for a meet.
-
One thing my wife and sister (that's 2 different women!) often say is that it would be good if there was a handle, or just something to hold on to on the inside of the door, while they're hovering over the seat.
-
Why would you choose to do a project on women urinating?
There is already a solution to this apparent problem, it's called a toilet. There are plenty of them at Glastonbury.

The music in Park Home is probably from the Stonebridge bar. It's definitely a noisy area to camp in, although it doesn't bother me.

One of the guys in our camp has his tent slashed and money stolen out of his pocket this year, I think it was the Wednesday night. The police were really nice and visited our camp a few times afterwards to make sure everything was ok.
Another guy at our camp found a girl in his tent on the same night, I think she gave the wrong tent excuse, he tried to find his torch to see who she was but she ran off. She couldn't have ran away that quickly if she was wasted. I'm assuming she was the person who robbed the other guy, or part of a gang.
Whoever robbed him only took the English notes though, they left the Scottish ones.

I was at the cider bus meet this year but only spoke to people I already knew because there was no way of spotting efesters.
Did anyone else think that the cider bus was a lot busier this year than in previous years? It was really crowded so even if a few people were wearing efest t shirts, it would have been hard to spot them.
I know it's tradition and all that, but I think somewhere a bit less crowded would be better for a meet.

There are some really daft suggestions in this thread.
What exactly is unfair about the current system?
There aren't enough tickets for the amount of people who want them, so people will always miss out regardless of the system used.
It's no one's place to dictate who deserves a ticket and who doesn't.

I camped in Park Home this year, would have preferred Pennards but decided against it because part of it was used as crew camping so it would have been too packed. I also camped with a big group so Park Home seemed like a suitable compromise for those who didn't want to camp in Pennards. I liked it, there was plenty of space and I like camping near the railway track so that it's easy to get to most areas of the site. I wouldn't mind a change, maybe to kidney mead, but it's a lot further to walk from gate D.

Apparently it was 60% for the US shows
I really hope this isn't the case for the UK shows.
I'm going to try for Glasgow tickets, but I'm not feeling very optimistic about getting them. If it was a different venue, I might not be as desperate for tickets, but they will be amazing at the barras.
-
1. Go to the underground piano bar when it's open.
2. Spend a night exploring other areas of the site instead of the late night corner.
3. Make something in the craft fields.

The ticket buying system is as fair as it can be and shouldn't be changed to favour anyone.
I find it ridiculous that some people think they have more of a right to be at Glastonbury than others.
-
The lock ups are great, I left my passport in there this year after using it to get an over 18 wristband. I also leave most of my money in there, then I don't need to worry about losing it.
-
A lot of people probably go to tick it off the list as the OP said, then they love it and keep going back.
Because of things like posh camping, showers, being able to get your hair done etc, festivals now appeal to people who might not have been interested previously. They no longer have the image of being full of old hippies, going to festivals has become a trend.

I had one Internet Explorer and one Chrome browser on my laptop and constantly refreshed.
I didn't see a booking page at all. A friend got through and got my ticket.

Plenty of guys use the long drops for pissing, they don't have urinals at every block of long drops.
The piss mess just comes from people being dirty bastards, it probably is mostly women because most men will use the urinals if there are any, but men must contribute to the problem as well.
