  1. I saw Andrew O'Neil (never heard of them before) in there during Elton and it was almost empty. So empty, in fact, that Andrew got all the audience members up on stage and sat us down and then performed to us on the stage. It made it a really special moment for the few of us that were there.

In Cabaret I saw Frank Sanazi (yep, pun) on Sat night and thought he was dire. We stayed less than 30 mins.

I saw this guy a few years ago in the same slot and actually loved it. Partly for the absurdity and love of finding something as bizarre as that at the festival. But I think any more than 20 minutes of it is unnecessary as it's ultimately the same joke.

  3. Best:

    • The one bite i had of my friend's coconut indonesian curry – wowza.
    • Surprisinfly, the cheese toastie I had from Archie's in Shangri-la – may have just been the situation but boy did that hit well.
    • Nashville's beef brisket hash, my word what a dish.

    Worst:

    • Chicken tenders from some pretty vacant chicken place I think on the stretch between the pyramid and theatre/circus fields.
    • Thai green curry from a similar area.
  4. The app was a total fail for me. By Thursday it had lost everything I spent ages curating so I had no record of what I wanted to see.  First and last time I don't just use Clashfinder!

Also, the map was close to unusable sometimes. Hopefully they learn some lessons and spend some time updating it for next year.

Elton was great also, glad I stayed for whole set. Nobody really blew me away but equally I don't think I saw anyone I really didn't like. Maybe Manics (iffy sound, odd setlist choices), but even they were enjoyable. Would have preferred Earl Sweatshirt to do some more songs and less dicking about but still decent.

As a die-hard Manics fan I was pleasantly surprised by them. I've accepted they're not quite what they used to be, but thought it was a great show this time around. I was quite happy with the setlist as love to see The Holy Bible get some love. Although The Anchoress's take of This Is Yesterday was a bit naff live.

Sound bleed, Cabaret /Sensation Seekers and Park/Stonebridge

Bang on. So many acts on the Cabaret were visibly put off by stuff pumping into the tent from outside. Similarly, I bailed on Max Richter because – unless you were down the front – the Stonebridge Bar was ruining the experience.

  7. On a 1.30am coach wednesday morning, so assuming I'll get to the festival before gates open and join the queue.

Aiming for Paines Ground. A nice mix for me of having a bit of life but also can get some sleep.

  8. I don't have the answer. But I worked on the backstage gate to the acoustic tent in like 2011 or something and I did have to check the wristbands of everyone who came through, including Mr Eavis once!

It was quite laid back – jeeps would roll through and everyone would vaguely show their wrist. If you wanted to sneak in hidden in a car you could do so very easily. (Obviously you'd need entrance to the site first.)

Probably average one act in there per festival, can’t remember being disappointed and agree Art Garfunkel and Bootleg Beatles have been highlights.

Music aside I just think it is a boring stage (despite the good food and drink options) - the Pyramid, Park, West Holts and the SE Corner all add to whatever artist is playing. I wish they’d give it a bit of a Juke Joint vibe not unlike what Bourbon Street had.

Even the name's boring. Not to mention, completely incorrect.

Nothing against the line-ups in there. But, considering the thought/creativity the rest of the festival has, it feels like a bit of a blank page.

  10. Any predictions on what the bus services will be like in London tomorrow?

I'm having to get to Victoria coach station from north London (to get a coach to Norwich because that's the only place I could get a ticket from).

So worried the buses will be packed and I won't be able to even get on one.

We were two of them!. Enjoying a drink in Castle Cary knowing we've beaten tne strike. A lot of people who came were crew as we were talking to some on the train, so maybe the DM making a point and exaggerating a little, but there definitely is some dedication going on! I actually had no idea there were crew buses from Castle Cary on the Monday - there were loads waiting.

Oh yeah, like that's ever gonna happen!

  12. Big Jeff is such a kind and friendly man. Has done more for the Bristol music scene than many.

I distinctly remember him joining in a tipsy debate between my flatmate and I back at university ahead of Glasto about who was better: The Boss or Neil Young. He agreed with me (Neil Young).

    Hope the recovery is quick.
