Still reeling from this line up announcement, I'm just curious, if Festival Republic announced this for Reading and Leeds or Latitude, I'd imagine it would sink like a lead balloon. The problem with Ireland is that a lot of the acts on R&L and Latitude have announced standalone gigs in Dublin, Cork and Galway and in the North. Dublin has a selection of parks that are turned into one day festivals, St Annes, Kilmainham, Trinity etc they swallow up a lot of the possible acts that could appear at EP. Last great line up that EP really had was in 2018. So come EP's first announcement there's not much left in the pot for what used to be a great festival.

Well line up announced, pretty meh I have to say, looks like Melvin moved the dates for Kylie.

Well one of my favourites Body&Soul festival is cancelled this year, so I'm going to Beyond the Pale, which boasts one of the best line ups this year for Ireland anyway.
-
Well first announcement is out for this, a few repeats from 2019, 2018 and some new acts too for the bill.

So just to check - we're still waiting on a fourth headliner?
Instagram/Twitter replies suggest a further line-up announcement is imminent...
Doesn't look like you are going to get that fourth headliner now, maybe someone bumped up in the lineup.

ATN are announcing 50 acts on Monday 8th April, so will add a poster here of the update when I can find it.

Could it be Siouxsie Sious, All Together Now Festival in Ireland is waiting on a headliner too and I'm hoping its her. Could it have been FKA Twigs, she apparently cancelled her summer tour that took in a few festivals and perhaps both festivals had her initially booked but now have to get a replacement.

She isn't subbing the killers.
She could be, last time she headlined EP was a medium capacity festival at 35,000, EP now is 75,000 apparently so she could very easily be a sub for this one. Someone in another forum said that she wasn't going to cart the backdrop all the way to Ireland between dates in Spain and Portugal. More often than not though, established touring artists sometimes have duplicate backdrops that can be set up in other countries for a tour. I believe Aphex Twin done this with the Field Day set in 2017, he had a much smaller backdrop setup in Dublin the following day for Forbidden Fruit. Speaking of which, he is another rumour for the blurred out name and is also touring between these dates in Bristol and Portugal.

Tumbleweeds abound here, its been seventeen weeks now since last announcement, just ANNOUNCE PHUCKING SOMETHING!!! Even if its shit, just announce it.

Honestly if Aphex Twin gets announced as replacement to Arcade Fire for both Cala Mijas or Kalorama I'll rip my hair out. I've been campaigning to get Aphex Twin to the Electric Picnic since 2011, I started off with nearly a 1,000 in my group its now dwindled to about 600 odd people, so fingers fecking crossed he's at the Picnic this year. Here's a link to my Facebook group.

Electric Picnic announcement put back now till April, perhaps that will be the same for this and Kalorama.

I’m just hoping the delay is not related to Arcade Fire eventually pulling out... ?
They’re still not announced elsewhere than Cala Mijas and Kalorama. I’ve seen a few rumoured dates in Italy on the subreddit, but no announcement since then.
That would make sense with Italy, they have a festival called Home Festival (On around the same time as CM and K) so they're probably rumoured for that.

Waiting on word from this too as Electric Picnic only has eleven names down so far, this festival, the one in Lisbon Portugal, Kalorama are on the same weekend all have to still announce their second announcements, just wondering if there will be crossover Amyl is playing both EP and CM.

Grace Jones added today.

Anyone have good suggestions for a duffel bag with large wheels, Was looking at duffel bags with wheels on Google and a lot of them are really puny wheels, was looking at this one, what do you reckon.

I don't know about this. I was a fairly massive fan of Aphex Twin in the 90s, but I saw the last 30 minutes of his set a Field Day 2017, after Slowdive, and it didn't do much for me. It sounded more like a DJ set. There is nothing wrong with that, but I've already ticked the box (seen him) and this lineup doesn't really motivate me to go again. I've found other Warp bands playing original music (Plaid, Squarepusher, Autechre) much more enjoyable.
He actually played a lot of his own stuff throughout that set, he played tracks off an album he specifically released for that gig and stuff from his Polygon Window record and material from Collapse, SAW period, Lisbon Acid from AFX and stuff from Caustic Window. Yeah he always drops other stuff that catches his ear too, raising the profile of other electronic artists that he mixes into his own productions and Weirdcore on the lasers and visuals.

That's not a bad start at all for a first announcement, I wonder why they moved to August, it used to be on the start of June.
