  1. Our Trust received their allocation this week...well half of it for some reason. Managed to snag an appointment for  this morning - beauty of having rubbish lungs is that I was put in a higher category than the rest of my team. Bit chaotic at first but the actual vaccination part was quick and painless.  Now if I could get my shielding relatives vaccinated I’d be a lot happier.  Still going to be careful even when I’ve had the second dose for the sake of my partner and other people.

  2. I'd drafted a long email to that vile Philip Davies and then had to amend it as he's publicly said DC needs to go.  If anything I'm getting more angry the longer he hangs on.  My mother has been in hospital now for three weeks and was shielding before but was struggling and we followed the government guidance to stay at home so feel that I've stupidly put my mother at risk by not following my instincts and travelling to her each week.

    This.

Also, what's staffing like at your school? In some, staffing means sacking someone would be virtually impossible/incredibly foolish.

Technically it could be seen as gross misconduct and dependent on occupational sick pay could even be classed as fraud but its a risk a lot of people take.

  4. Bloody typical - could have got a punter ticket but wanted to volunteer again (worked for Oxfam previously). Should have had priority except for my partner’s appendix rupturing just before our second festival.

He’s got a volunteering place...and I have to hope that people drop out instead ?

Work in an office so willing to help in the "secret" sales if I can. Wasn't around for the resales. So hit us with your saddest ticket stories and I'll pick someone to help

No sad story but we're working for Oxfam and tried to get tickets for our usual campmates (obviously they will be camped elsewhere) :D ..and failed mainly down to me being too slow to respond to a kind efester who had the payment screen up

  6. Thank you all who have responded....its made a pretty awful week feel a little better.  Not getting tickets actually hasn't been the nadir of this week between family, work and involvement in a sodding big performance/installation in the centre of Bradford this weekend :banghead:

Lots to think about and research more to see if we can flog/sell an act or bite the bullet and get tickets

  7. Just considering our group's options in case we aren't all successful in getting to Glastonbury this year - are there any other festivals that meet the following criteria:

    1. Non arena based (or is Glastonbury the only one?)

    2. Sizeable cabaret, circus type area

    3. Real ale (its a must!)

Thinking about Beatherder/Kendal Calling but may depend on the acts booked (unless ours is anyway!)

  8. She did say it was money related...but I said to put it on my debit card.  To be honest, last year I put everyone's tickets on my card and they all paid me.  I had the money from people within the hour (love faster payments), days before the money actually left my account.  Come to think of it the only person I had to wait for the money from was her...

Would love to cut her out of our lives, however its a little tricky due to work stuff.

  9. Not a great morning ticket-wise, but at least we've sussed out who we can rely on in the resales.  Last year we got ours (group of 6) and then as a group banded together to get some other people's tickets who were having problems.  Cue this year and the same group all on facebook, try as we might we didn't get anywhere.  Then one of the women we got tickets for last year posted on Facebook that she had hers and was off to bed.  Despite our pleadings she came up with reasons why she couldn't....ten minutes later the sold out message came up.

Not that bothered about missing out on the tickets as been here before and managed to either win or get some in the resale, plus we have the possibility of working as street performers but really hacked off at her attitude.  Ah well.....karma and all that

  10. I'm a scouser now living in West Yorkshire and I don't have a strong accent so unless you get me riled up it's unlikely you'd realise. I really hate the way this thread goes each year :(

Saying that there were loads of us (that I could recognise) in East 18/17 campervan fields.
