  1. Ethel Cain and Last Dinner Party is probably the biggest clash for me - Not seen EC before (I have seen TLDR many times but I like them). Thursday is very thin for me but I will research the Spanish acts and usually find one or two. Are the line-ups for the small stages announced yet? (I can't remember what it was called last year but the one where Blondshell and Japanese Breakfast played).
  2. Usually these things are because someone on the management team / marketing guru thinks it's the best way to drum up interest and demand - a look at this forum could prove them correct (I think it is all a little silly myself).
  3. I saw Mitski last Friday in Hammersmith with my 15 y/o - she loved it, I thought it was as dull as dishwater. The atmosphere was flat but not annoying (it was a sit down gig!) so hopefully they'll be okay. I took the same daughter to Lana Del Rey at Hyde Park last year and there were a percentage of young girls who you'd guess have been on the helium for hours beforehand, but it seems to just be the way they hero worship these days (even if the bands that make it are quite perplexing!)
  4. £48 is Stansted to Brighton £24 was Cambridge to Brighton - you'd need to get to Cambridge on that route - about £7 - all per person Seems like you're wedded to a taxi - don't let me stop you - but I would get the train or if being economical a bus to Victoria and a train from there or East Croydon. I personally use Trainline but https://www.nationalrail.co.uk/ has all the train times (but will tell you the full price, trainline or trainsplit app will be cheaper)
  5. The big timer on the site now indicates 15 days 23 hours - judging by everything they've said I imagine it will be when it ticks to under 14 days - so this time on Wednesday.
  6. One way seems to be £48 on trainline. Cheaper still going to Cambridge and getting train direct from there - I selected Wednesday and a single was £24. A cab would not be cheaper or quicker unfortunately
  7. Think some last minute buyers will get a bargain - I still think it's great value this year - sure you'll get 90 minute sets so a little truncated but I have paid 214 euros - last year I paid about £100 for LDR, £60 (six times) for Pulp, £55 (seven times) for The National. Just the four shows those three are playing covers the ticket price before anything else (granted it's a little thin for me). I have Last Dinner Party, Chelsea Wolfe, Julie Byrne, Ethel Cain and hopefully they'll be a good few newer bands added (like Blondshell last year). If not, craft beer in Barcelona it is.
  8. wow can't believe general tickets for The National still on Dice after an hour. Cheap (although not as cheap as ones through AT)
  9. They played a circa 1,000 capacity place in the US on the eve of their tour last year (maybe 2022), and did a small acoustic thing at Edinburgh Connect in 2022), outside of that, yes, you are right. I think this will be the smallest room I've seen them in since 2005. Oh actually maybe 2010 at Electric Ballroom. Still a long time and I feel old after writing that paragraph!
  10. Got one at five past. Hallelujah! See you there
  11. seeing people getting national tickets but i'm in a queue. Argh! (well done really hope I get one!) - no hint of queue length
  12. I'm wheel of death in waiting room - is this normal?
  13. by Access Ticket Website do you mean through the app? Or is there a web page to access tickets also?
  14. Seeing Sold Out next to The National show is making my anxiety a whole world worse. Everything ready for an hours time. does the page automatically refresh or is a keep clicking in and out until it goes live?
  15. I have SO much anxiety about failing to get a ticket for The National tomorrow. All bits crossed!
  16. Not confirmed. I remember a similar thing (special show for privately ticketed festival) and there wasn't a CT presale. I hope there will be though it would make things simpler for the dedicated. Thanks for your confidence xxialac, I will be online and trying when tickets come on sale and hopefully I will get one (happy that it seems to be linked to one per person as I know how lazy people are).
  17. The long lead time until tickets coming on sale is giving me anxiety! It's a long time since The National have played a circa 2,000 capacity venue and I'm in Barcelona for Primavera (then going to Italy to see them). I don't have VIP ticket just regular, and there doesn't seem to be an upgrade option (nor does Cherry Tree National fan club seem to be offering a priority window) so in the lottery with the masses and praying seems to be the only way to get tickets. How much in demand are these shows? Exceptionally a suppose.
