  1. I spotted another lovely little run.

    Lonely Heats Club on Sunday:

Porij > Elkka (Live) > Hak Baker > Fat Dog

I'll be at Shania and Avril getting my nostalgia fix but those four in a row would have been a lovely time.

Baby Queen in Avalon, Sunday. New discovery for me, but loving her work.

She’s absolutely fantastic live too. Unfortunately won’t be seeing her this time due to clashes but the four previous times I’ve seen her she was excellent and improved each time.

Not sure if I'm alone in this, but the big area missing for me in this lineup is indie/ pop female acts. I missed last year for the first time in a long time, so my last fest was 2022, but that year we had Sigrid/Griff/Holly Humberstone/ Phoebe Bridgers etc all on Woodsies, and even Miley C on the pyramid. I can't find anything in that genre in 2024 really - I was sure Griff would be added when the wider lineup was announced along with maybe a couple of other similar names  but it hasn't materialised. I'd love to know if anyone can recommend any acts that are in that sort of genre or would appeal to fans of the above. Who have I missed? Or which smaller acts could fill that void for me?! Thanks in advance for any recommendations!!

Some great suggestions already, some of which I’ll repeat but my recs would be:

    • Baby Queen
    • Bow Anderson
    • English Teacher
    • Soccer Mommy
    • Aurora
  4. Still completely undecided on most things but some really good runs I’ve spotted are:

Kneecap > High Vis > Mannequin Pussy > Soccer Mommy > Fat White Family (Woodsies)

Barry Can’t Swim > Joy Anonymous B2B Salute > Hot Chip > Eric Prydz

    The K’s > NewDad > Blondshell > Alvvays

If it helps...that Max Cooper set is an ambient set and will be nothing like his usual, live IDM sets. There has been a bit about suggesting the Bicep Chroma A/V set is a bit meh or only 'ok'. Of course, on IICON, it could be quite a moment. However, HAAi and KI/KI have individually played two of my favourite sets on the Farm, so putting them together on a brand new Arcadia installation is a no-brainer for me!

    Ben

I quite fancied the ambient set and Bicep Chroma fills me full of FOMO, HAAi and KI/KI are winning the tussle for now but I'll no doubt flip flop a bunch over the next few weeks.

  6. My very quick lunch break schedule (of which I expect I'll skip a bunch due to distractions and the inability to teleport between stages) looks like this:

Fri: Sofia Kourtesis > Remi Wolf > Bow Anderson > Frank Turner > Danny Brown > LCD Soundsystem > Dua Lipa > Haii B2B Ki/Ki > Amelie Lens

Sat: Kneecap > Hi Vis > Keane > Bloc Party > Black Pumas > Barry Can't Swim > Joy Anonymous B2B Salute > Hot Chip (DJ Set) > Eric Prydz

    Sun: The Zutons > The K's > Newdad > Shania Twain > Avril Lavigne > Nia Archives > Justice > Daniel Avery > Hedex B2B Bou > Andy C

My most upsetting clash at the moment is Haii B2B Ki/Ki Vs Bicep Vs Max Cooper. Baby Queen clashing with Avril is a heartbreaker too.

Yeah I feel like dance music fans are spoiled for choice in terms of current-ness, emerging DJs and old favourites.

In terms of bands, we’re not so lucky. Unless you’re genuinely excited about seeing Frank Turner for the 150th time or stopped listening to music sometime around the 2010s.

You have those three elements for bands too, at a quick glance:

Current-ness = Nothing But Thieves, Seventeen, Jungle, Black Pumas, Heilung, Yard Act, IDLES, Fontaines, Alvvays, Lottery Winners

Emerging = New Dad, English Teacher, SPRINTS, Hi Vis, Bob Vylan, Blondeshell, Mannequin Pussy

Old favourites = Keane, James, Zutons, Bloc Party, Bombay Bicycle Club, Dexys, The Breeders, Ocean Colour Scene, The Farm

I haven't included any solo acts in that either, of which there are loads.

You are probably too late to apply for this year but if your wife qualifies for a Nimbus Card or a Glastonbury Nimbus Pass (it's all in the link) you would be able to apply to stay in Spring Ground Accessible Campsite, right next to Woodsies Stage. It might be worth asking if you can, just drop them an email. Happy to answer any questions about it, I have used the Accessible Facilities since 2011. 😊https://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/information/access-information/

Thank you for the suggestion, will definitely consider it if we’re lucky enough to get tickets in future years. We’re booked in at Tangerine Fields this time.

I’d be suggesting the new ambient stage by Woodside as an option.

That’s a great shout, we love ambient music so I was planning to spend a good chunk of time there anyway but having it as an option for when she’s overstimulated is good thinking.

Diverse UK will be there with sensory tent/s

That’s amazing, I had no idea. Do we know where about they are located and if they’re marked on the map?

Edit: Just seen the info @StoneCircle has shared which answers my question. Thanks both.

Jesus I’m such an idiot, opened this thread looking for a discussion on the likelihood of ACDC at Glastonbury 🤦

Haha I was wondering if anyone might think ADHD was some new act they hadn’t heard of.

They're not on the Glasto lineup (yet) but I'm really into a Norwegian all girl punk band called twominuteshate. So early 00's sounding and nostalgic!

Just had a listen to these guys and they’re great. You hit the nail on the head with early 00s sound, if you hadn’t told me they were new I would have 100% thought I’d just missed them first time around.

I went last year and it was fantastic. Booked my tickets for this year already. Decent line up so far:

Excited for Pale Waves, Antony Szmierek, Red Rum Club and Chappaqua Wrestling. Lots of new names for me to dig into as well.
