  1. The turnout was impressive I would say. The organisation indicated on the big screens that there would be some free space on the left side, but that's where I was and it was fully packed. Probably lots of Beliebers who were camping as well to be fair, but the crowd knew most of the songs by heart where I stood.

  2. It was very crowded on the field during Dua Lipa. We went further and further to the side but even there it was a bit too much. Good concert, but couldn't fully enjoy it because of the chaos around us.

    My highlight was Xurxo Fernandes! Both Global Village and Europe Stage are so much more comfortable and the acts are very original. Loving it!

    Friends of mine got scammed on Booking.com and found out today that they don't have an accommodation for the week. Does anyone have a golden tip for them? They are with a group of seven. Of course they can always buy tents and sleep at the festival, but maybe someone knows someone who had to cancel last-minute or something. You never know..

    Update: Booking.com have solved the problem for them, in a big way. They now stay at a 5-star hotel close to the festival. Classy.

    Any Global Village and Dropyard recommendations?

    Moonlight Benjamin, Minyo Crusaders and Volosi are all quality entertainment. If you also like the really traditional folk you can also go for Xurxo Fernandes, Lalala Napoli or Rodopi Ensemble. Los Orangutanes looks promising too. But I'm also very curious about the late night acts that are slightly more electronic such as Zar Electrick, Balaphonik Sound System and Zorg & Zoord.

  6. Very happy with the line-up of the Global Village, but also some nice acts at the Europe Stage and Petöfi. Of course, curious to see big acts like Dua Lipa and Stromae but the lesser known acts on smaller stages will really make it memorable and unique for me. Can't wait!

    Biggest clash for me is the first day already: I wanted to see Milky Chance and Noga Erez but turns out Duckshell and Xurxo Fernandes are also epic. They all play around 17.00..

    Okay suddenly a lot of names online on the SZiget site… they seem to be put on every day with no real structure.

    The circus line up contains more names than the ones they mention in the video.

    Some new names I can see now:

    * Eefje Visser

    * Arat kilo feat Mamani Keita & Mike Ladd

    *Barcode Circus Company

    *Cirque La Compagnie

    *CLEOPATRICK

    *Compagnie Canada

    * Duo Kaos

    *Duo Masawa

    *EspumA BrumA

    *French79

    *Gli Psicologi

    *Hands Some Feet

    *Hisashi Watanbe

    * La Burrasca

    *Luiku

    *NOVA TWINS

    * SYML

    *Shelter Boy

    *Surma

    *Yellow Straps

    *Viper Diva

    (can be that some were announced earlier but I forgot)

    Conclusion: seems like circus names and Europe names are now online!

    Plus Global Village?

  8. Meskerem Mees, Minyo Crusaders are more interesting to me than some of the headliners for instance. And all in all I think it might be 50 new names, only the context is largely missing because I'm lost in translation. I see Amsterdam Klezmer Band being namedropped for instance, but will they also perform?

    I've read it, the key points have all been translated in a post here, so don't worry about the translating. Other than that it's only the new Hungarian names that could be interesting to anyone.

  9. I'm quite content so far. Dua Lipa, Stromae, Woodkid, Ofenbach, Meute are all acts I'm looking foward to. Perhaps the Dutch acts could have been a bit edgier (there are other mainstream names that are more exciting if you ask me).

    Im going to take the Sziget Express this time, ever used it @Dutchfestivaladdict ? only leaving from the Netherlands so..

    I did, years ago. Average age was 18-21, take into account that you will be awake and partying for 24h (nearly impossible to sleep). Worked well for me at the time, might not be what I'm looking for anymore by now. The train journey itself is adventurous and at looks pretty at times. And it's relatively cheap.

    • Thanks 1
  11. Does anyone have an idea on what the new dates will be for 2022? I suspect it to be 10-17 Aug but could it also be 03-10 Aug? We have to reschedule our reservation for our Airbnb and we cannot wait until the official announcement so we will have to take a guess..
