Although it doesn't affect me, I'm still annoyed about this. No staff should have to camp outside the fence.

I was on gate D for all my shifts - so you had to allow at least 45 mins each way for walking.  And the fabled tea/coffee van never turned up once!

But apart from that, I really enjoyed my week - lack of sleep caught up with me Saturday PM (had to have a lie down near stone circle), but appreciated the decent toilets/showers in the Oxfield.

£62 all in Wolves, Balcony seated (row B)

Same row as me....would like to have been closer but it's bit smaller than Wembley so I shouldn't complain too much!

Looks like quite a few went up just gone 11 last night.  Two friends of mine also now have places with Oxfam!   The site was going mad with ArcTanGent going on and off sale constantly for a few hours leading up to then, often within 30 seconds of each other.  Wonder if that was them trying to get people to turn their page monitors off 😂

With the times they've been becoming available, it's almost like there is no pattern....

Big thanks to @greenelk for getting me a place last night (time of which was way past my bedtime!). Woke up to the news this morning I am still shaking - can hardly believe I'm in and wouldn't have got there without the kind help of this man 🙂

And all those saying 'yeah, but there was no water, treat people like animals, they act like animals' etc - really? So that excuses the numerous sexual assaults committed, because people were forced to pay extortionate prices for water? What a complete load of nonsense. Sounds a lot like the disgusting comments from the money-grabbing dickhead in charge of the festival who essentially said 'well, the women took their own clothes off and chose to crowd surf, what did they expect?'

The footage and photos of women being groped and treated in a beyond inappropriate way are really shocking.

100% this - it was so depressing - both the behaviour and the lack of in-depth explanation for it.

Obviously I was shocked that Fred Durst is a dick - I really had no idea.

  5. Hello

I've been a long time lurker on this forum for a couple of years now.  I've posted a handful of times but never formally introduced myself (bit rude of me - sorry).  So..um...hello.

2022 is the my first time at GF  and I'm so excited it's making me nervous. I'm going with my wife and two (thankfully, adult) children. I've been obsessed with the festival for years but not had the chance to go due to growing kids/time/money/usual stuff.  Finally life (and luck with tickets) is on my side.

Been great reading all the useful info on this thread and finding some tips on new music too.   Thanks for all the good stuff 🙂

Thank you for this.  I've got till the night before to defer, but I'm not sure I've got the mental capacity to go through the training again, as this would be my second deferral after the second ankle break (Covid put pay to it happening anyway, but I'd already deferred before that).  I'm struggling with the mental side of the training, yet I found running the proper half far easier, and actually pretty much enjoyed doing it, with a much more positive mindset.

I had a bit of a moment last night, where I read something from a seasoned runner that echoed your words above, and I felt really positive that I can do this.  The pain is already considerably less than a couple of days ago and I'm continuing to ice, and the physio should happen this week.

If I do find nearer the time the pain is still too much, I will defer, but I'm feeling hopeful that I can get there, and reading the 20 miles is a psychological thing has given me another boost.  I know I had many miles left in the tank at the end of the half, and I'm also not afraid to walk when I need to.  With no time pressure on myself other than the cut off, I know I've got it in me.

So thanks once again for the advice, it's just what I needed and has really helped.

Sorry to hear about your pain @Greenelk, but sounds like things are looking up.  Mrs P and I shall send positive thoughts in the direction of your groin (do you think that will help in anyway?), and very much looking forward to following your progress on the big day!

Looks like those are AQA's dates, maybe other exam boards will have them on different days 🤞

I was clinging onto that hope 🙂 but checked a couple of other exam boards and all the dates aligned (for those subjects which affect us).  I would have been surprised if they didn't match up.

This would have been our first GF so I wanted the full experience.  However, I'd 100% rather it go on without us than not go on at all in 2021.  If GF is going ahead, then other festivals/gigs will be too and we'll spend our money on those instead (Green Man for starters).

  8. Yes, it will affect our family - have youngest doing A-levels.

There's little chance of us going now, so it looks like our tickets will be probably be back in the pool.  But I'm going to wait until last minute just in case the festival is delayed until next year again and there's another rollover.  They may not make a decision on it going ahead until March, so perhaps I'll just leave it and see what happens - if I lose 100 quid on ticket admin charges, it's not going to kill me.

Going to look at the new exam timetable in detail just in case we can still go to Glastonbury, but there's no way I'm going to do anything to diminish my son's chances of doing the best he can.

Oh bloody hell.  Sorry to hear that!

I'm taking it that a postcard from the site for him, and a couple of drunken facetimes wouldn't cut it then?

I'm going to try and get him adopted by new parents by Christmas - think it's the only reasonable option.

Gates open a year tomorrow, so anyone that goes for the Campervan fields when they open or joins the queue overnight it's a year today.  Six of us will be staying in a nearby Inn on the Tuesday night, so my one year to go has officially started.   The days will start dropping away, and no October stress for us lucky enough to have tickets confirmed.

My moods seem to be swinging between real highs and lows thinking about what could have been this year, and what hopefully will be next.  Sending love to all the efestivals crowd this week.

Mood on the way down about next year due to talk of delaying 2021 A-level exams which will scupper our chances of going as youngest child will be affected.  Don't really feel we can leave him alone in the house revising whilst we go and enjoy ourselves!

Trying to stay neutral about it but....

I think you can buy a "bluetooth splitter" but the cheap ones only seem to do 2 headphones at once. It also looks like shiny shiny new iphones might support more than one. But we be Android. Also casting all this from device to screen or getting computer to send it back to headphones - ugh.

Might have to just give the neighbours some earplugs....

Yeah, there are a few bluetooth splitters around but don't think they get good reviews.

Another option is to split the signal with a headphone amplifier, then put a separate bluetooth transmitter into each of the amplifier outputs. But with only 4 users, that would be costing you 120+ quid to setup.  So a bit pricey.

Perhaps renting a silent disco kit is the answer.

    I have a technical question....

During the day, we can get away with having the sound through speakers, but later on that's really going to annoy the neighbours.

So, is there a way to hook up more than one set of headphones (bluetooth, don't want wires when cidered), there'll probably be 3 of us for virtual glasto, while having the video on a screen big enough to see?

Seems like a simple request but I can't find an answer on the interweb.

Been looking at this myself - Bluetooth will only transmit to one device at a time (the standards are changing this year I believe but I assume that will then require software/driver upgrades and will probably be too late for the end of June anyway).

So I've had to go for cabled, using a headphone amplifier (1 in, 4 out) - I used a Behringer MicroAmp HA400 for this - around 20-25 quid - plus some extension cables for all the headphones.

The only other option I could think of was getting silent disco equipment - but then you are looking at spending a couple of hundred quid minimum.
