Thanks for the heads up, just won tickets to The Killers. Saw The 1975 on Tuesday after previously winning tickets so can't believe it!

I was also at the 1975 from a power ballot on Tuesday! There wasn't many in the box so probably saw you.

I'll have to have a crack at these as well when I get the new spins on Monday

BMTH are a boomer moment for me.

I've watched them rise, never putting anything out that got recognition outside of their fanbase, briefly featured on R1s B-list for a time. Didn't do anything with that, didn't grow any bigger, never charted any higher, didn't increase album sales.

But that was basically the trajectory of Foo Fighters, who are renowned and have the power to tailor an entire day's lineup and still sell out on name alone. And now kids will see BMTH name as a headliner in 2021 when they look at the poster in 10 years and they've headlined twice since, they will be an established headliner and insane booking.

You mention the charts but it's important to notice that even album cuts like teardrops (39), 1x(55) and kingslayer (55) all charted albeit mostly out of the top 40. Even Lost which felt like a fairly weak single for me still charted at 29. The only 'rock' songs i can see on the current chart are Mr Brightside (killers, currently 61, peaked at 10), one more time (blink, currently 70, peaked at 28) and dance with me (blink, currently 85) but apologies if I am missing out on more.

While charts really don't tell the full story, they're certainly not doing badly there compared to their contemporaries. I do agree they're in limbo with the changing of Readings demographic though, it feels like they would be a nailed on regular headliner if they were this size but in the state of music 10 years ago.

  3. Seem to have no luck of getting any cheaper the £140 a ticket (seated). I will continue to keep trying but it's very annoying being kicked out after refreshing 3/4 times

  4. AXS doesn't seem to be accepting my email address and I'm really not sure why. Have a code and I'm certainly using the right one. Any tips or ideas would be great

26k again here so I'm not expecting to get anything

Turns out I got the exact same number in queue as the last sale from my screenshots. That's a bit odd?

  6. The Loneliest time (song not album) never really seemed to hit me until hearing it live at Glasto. I can't stop playing it now. Absurdly excited for the loveliest time now, she really doesn't miss.

  7. Missed it last week due to the obvious but just got round to Geese's sophomore this morning and it's a cracker. Feels much more refined than their debut which I already loved and the country tinge to it works really well. They seem like a band that will never sit in the same lane for more than an album so I'm already looking forward to whatever wacky combination they head for next

Bottom of the stone circle field Wednesday lunchtime: "Yeah, you need some casual racism occasionally, just to keep people on their toes"

It's very possible this was the friend I was with, around the time they we're beginning the ceremony in the center if i remember correctly. Safe to say he was already a few drinks in

Unfortunately also applies to village pubs too. Can't get a pint for much less than a fiver where I live.

With Glasto I'd probably be more concerned at the cost of food if relying on buying from vendors. For example, Strawberry Fair was £14 for Jerk Chicken, rice and peas so would assume similar pricing at Glasto.

Even the village I live in (15 mins from Cambridge) charges more for a Guinness or decent IPA than half of the pubs in the city! £6.50 for a pint is certainly expensive comparing it to the spots and social club but sadly I'm very used to paying close to it.

    Edit: Up the U's

Awesome cheers guys, just saves on a little bit of cash then

  11. First timer here! Looking to do a bit of a bar crawl tomorrow or Thursday however planning on alternating between buying at said bar and drinking our own cans. Is this okay with the venues or would they (fairly enough) have an issue with it?

  12. Had very little to do for the last week or so and yet of course I've been stuck in a meeting since 8am this morning, sod's law! No matter what, I'll be logging off as soon as the clock hits 4:30, out of office is scheduled and ready to go

  13. Planning on joining tonight. Should be leaving Cambridge at around 8, looking to arrive on site at about midnight. As this is my first year, I understand we should just be directed to a car park upon arrival? What time to the carparks usually open this evening in case we're making bizarrely good time?

  14. New sleep token album out today. I really couldn't get into their older stuff but some of these new singles have been exceptional. Really hoping there's even more variety throughout the full length

Not sure why, a single song on Spotify. Disappointed that they have a slot when harder working bands haven't been announced. Snacks of having the right type of PR!

They've been playing regular shows the last couple of years largely around the 'Windmill' scene and have improved every time I've seen them. Couldn't be happier for them, none of them with any of the classic industry connections which seem to be the case for a lot of new bands these days.

There's a fair few full live sets on youtube that have getting a lot of buzz recently which have obviously helped labels take note and get some good PR out there

Nice one, yeah i'll be seeing the 1975 i think but might bump into you if you're going for the full weekend? I'm literally only going for the weekend to see the 1975. I'll probably go see Little Simz and Skrillex on the saturday though, then will be heading over to see Aitch.

Awesome yeah, I'm heading for the whole thing. I'll give you a shout closer to the time to sort out a beer or two while someone's on. There's a lot of decent stuff hidden on some of the smaller stages so should be a good weekend!
