I've always attended regardless of the lineup, more than happy to give over my money in October without knowing a thing and would do so, even if I still knew nothing walking through the gates in June.

How about we have no lineup at all? Just wonder round the site seeing who’s playing and stop if it’s someone you like!

BabyQueen last night at the Leadmill.  Hadn’t seen her before so didn’t know what to expect but was happily surprised to find a lot of her songs beefed up into chunky pop bangers by the live band.. some ballads just Bella playing piano by herself and some great new tracks.  A couple of misses in the new stuff but mostly great.  Everyone went wild for Want me and We can be anything at the end.
Would definitely see her again, she’s good fun on stage (had a wardrobe malfunction and ended up changing outfit between songs and various other randomness).

BabyQueen was a pleasantly surprising find for me at Y Not! last year. Excellent live I thought.

Has canning suddenly gotten cheaper in the last few years as I remember when it used to be a big thing to find a beer that Mr Gigpusher liked that was in cans and now the majority are in cans?

Yeah, there’s a few entry level canning machines available now which has massively reduced the barrier to entry.

Also think a lot of bounce back loans got used for buying them!

Craft beer/a decent pint is appearing in football grounds a lot more reliably, music venues are still a bit hit/miss but I think it’s well worth it. If you’re in for £7 for a pint of dreadful shite like Tuborg, £8 for a Beavertown or or £9 for an actual lovely pint from Burning sky/verdant etc etc becomes a lot more appealing. If you’re gonna ream me, ream me for something really good

We've just started supplying Stockport County's ground with our beers which is a great move on their part 👍

  5. In the past I've taken a couple of 20 litre bag in boxes of whatever pale ale we were packing in the brewery on the week leading up to the festival. Was generally okay but last time I did it on a hot year I took a 4.2% pale but was drinking so much water due to the heat that I struggled to even get tipsy! Ended up supplementing it with top ups from the cider bus 😁

We started canning during lockdowns - prior to that we bottled so I wasn't able to take any smallpack - so last year I took a variety of our beers from low ABV pales, some NEIPAs, some DIPAs and some Impy stouts - worked well as I could choose what to drink depending on the ABV and how pissed I felt at the time!

@AlvoramMight be worth speaking to @plot2potHe runs Thirst Class Ale and brews his own beer and stocks some other breweries. If nothing else I'm sure he'd be able to guide you to some top quality beers that aren't quite Cloudwater prices.

He stocks Brew York for example which are some of my husband's favourite beers.

Thanks for the mention - we only supply our own beer to trade but it is very good 😉

    Happy to have a chat!

Seems like a few have the same idea. They don't look to be shifting, so I don't expect mine to either.

This is the most expensive gamble I've ever taken - got Y Not and Kendal tickets last year hoping one would be a test event and happen. Ended up going to Latitude when they didn't.

Chose Kendal for this year but looks like that'll be the most expensive festival I've ever been to...

We did the same with Bearded Theory and Y Not - we went to Bearded and we're going to Y Not anyway as well. Did Glastonbury too - so three festivals in three months for us!

Hey everyone, is there a map of the YNot site? First time we've been. Thanks

Here you go - you can also get them on the festival app which has the line-up and other stuff on it.

Think next time Ill arrive at 4 or 5pm Wednesday. Let the queues settle a bit.

We got to site at around 7pm on Wednesday due to getting quite a late coach time - thought we’d be gutted to miss so much of Wednesday but it actually turned out okay.

By the time we got there our friends who’d arrived about 7am were broken. The early start, queuing in the heat then two car trips in the heat had done them in. They came for a walk with us but baled early whereas we had a really good explore of the site, a few drinks and some nice food and got to bed around 2am.

They were still pretty fucked on Thursday whereas we felt great. Might be a plan for next year!

On our coach from Manchester.  Not getting tickets until we arrive because it's not the originally planned coach and was only scheduled yesterday.

We had this yesterday from Manchester - steward was waiting to meet us with tickets when we arrived - hopefully the same for you too. Good luck!

Just boarded our 2pm coach from Manchester (it’s 2:05pm now!)

Driver doesn’t have most people’s tickets apparently - not really giving us much info at the moment about if/when we’ll get them!

Just to update, we were met off the coach by a lovely chap who had all our tickets - we had them in hand and were through gate a within half an hour.

indeed, an extremely high queue drifting in soon no doubt!

I predict high pressure early on leading to low pressure and more unsettled periods as the morning progresses.

I didn’t - and that would explain why craft ales can often give me pretty bad acid reflux.
Do you know if there’s a reliable way of finding out which beers have and haven’t used it?

In short, no I don't think there's an easy way as it's used in such small quantities as a processing aid it doesn't have to be listed as an ingredient. It's also not one of the allergens we have to declare on packaging so no help that way either - sorry!

    21th June

T-1. One more sleep ( if you can).

The current weather and ground conditions in Pilton are :
    *  HFH records 16.0 degrees at 0808 with humidity above 95%. Average temp at time of reading, over the past 21 days, is 18.0. Low of 13.3 and max 25.3 degrees. Consequent tent conditions - getting sweaty with the onset of panting and flatulence.

    * RAM jam jar is empty, as expected. Todays duckometer reading is 0.0 mm. The total rainfall in 21 days of June is 28mm. 15mm in a single day. Ducky has gone to the pool.

    * Diver is praising like he should.

    * Current wind condition - still. Miss Pat is currently reading Pyramid stage.  Al Ci, 1 okta.

    * Sticky stick has left for Portugal in his bus. The Well retreats into obscurity. Ground condition is Large black dog eating rabbit scut, with the sound of buzzards thermalling.

And that’s a wrap folks! Arlo, Pilton Digger and I will see you at the village fete tomorrow. Less pants, more party…… and remember to wear sunscreen.

    Possibly carrageenan. https://www.annallergy.org/article/S1081-1206(18)31141-4/fulltext

Could have been sunflower seeds, but I've consumed these before in various forms, so seems unlikely. It does tend to trigger reflux if i have sunflower products. Sesame, peanuts and other nuts trigger reflux with me too. Lots of craft ales can also trigger reflux, which is how this incident started. Just felt like acid reflux, then got progressively worse.

You probably know already but we brewers use a carrageenan extract as a clarification aid during the brewing process.

  18. I had my wallet nicked in 2000 - bastard literally dragged a comatose me out of the tent by my feet and took the wallet from my pocket. Woke up in a daze and they were gone before I knew what was happening. It was a different festival back then though - and 2000 was infamous for the amount of nobheads who attended!

Never had anything nicked since (touches wood) but I do use the lockups for the odd thing here and there - I always put my sack truck in once everything's in just to get it out of the way.

As others have said you get a ticket which you keep safe and they'll ask you a question that isn't on the ticket when you go to collect to verify someone hasn't just found your ticket. I always take a photo of the ticket as backup too but never managed to loose on yet!  Oh, and the lockups have free bog roll too which is always good to know 😉
