  1. I genuinely believe that ADTR haven’t had a bad record. Bad Vibrations certainly isn’t as good as the rest, but it’s by no means terrible. I can’t say that I’m all that sold on any of the new stuff yet, but im sure I’ll brazenly claim I hate it and then end up no lifing it for months after.

The interview with the organisers hinted at Bad Religion and one of them said "There in Europe late June" so they could have been hinting at them, also there's 4 headliners next year

Is it Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday next year?

Thinking of skipping R/L next year for a trip to Riot Fest in Chicago. The lineup is insaneRiot_2021_ADMAT_SQUARE.jpg

I'm going to California for two weeks and then flying to Chicago a week for this for my Honeymoon next year. Honestly can't wait!

Dont get all this negativity when the festival is growing at an incredible rate and selling very well . It has clearly the biggest h/l's its ever had , the chance to see AFI in this country is rare and Thrice is a European exclusive . Slam dunk is a very different experience to trees i went last year and wont be going again it was overcrowded , couldn't get a drink and just didn't enjoy it much despite it having a great lineup for me . I think trees is doing just fine and has a very loyal clientele .

It can have all the loyal clientele it wants, but they've just put the capacity up 5000, so it will need to survive off more than that. AFI is cool get, Jimmy is a bit underwhelming (however I know would go down well with the trees crows), and European exclusive or not, Thrice are not a big band at all. I don't think people are suggesting that people will expressly choose Slam Dunk over 2000 Trees, but with Slam Dunk expanding, the pool of bands for them to  both book from crosses over much more, and i'd imagine a lot will go to Slam Dunk over Trees.

Since when were tickets to 2000 Trees for £75

The first year i went to 2000 Trees, it was £66 for the weekend. The lineup is obviously completely different now, which I know has to be reflected in the price, but the lineup is not good enough to warrant the price increase in my opinion. same filler bands year in year out, a couple of decent bands headlining the cave, a few bigger bands on the main stage and then relatively average size headliners.

That Thrice show in London (which was co-headlining with Refused), was downgraded from Brixton, to Shepherds Bush and they are supposed to be closing out the festival, nah.

Congestion is definitely going to be an issue, you'll already have loads of booked dates that bands aren't going to want to give up in case we're all clear by then, and then all the bands up until probably June/July trying to book around these as early as they can. In one respect it's great for the venues because they're all going to be busy, but there will inevitably problems.

I work in an o2 venue and this is exactly it. Even if there aren't shows announced in September/October/November/December, most of the date holds will be in place already, if not confirmed dates. So like you say, it will be a case of fitting in what can be fit in, around what is already there.

As well as this, it's all well and good that festivals are looking at pushing back their dates to September/October, but this is only going to work if the bands on the line-up didn't already have commitments booked that far in advance.

Lollapalooza Berlin posted teasers especially for RATM 6 hours ago. If they pulled out and your source knows, Lolla would know as well. Would be pretty cruel to still post ads, wouldn‘t it?

As it stands, they're still trying to sell tickets for their event. I've known festivals to have had acts pull out and delay announcing that for a few weeks, because the artist are big ticket shifters.

Moving to next year would be the best scenario for me, I think a lot of people are being optimistic announcing new dates for September/October time. I'd love to be wrong, but I think this is gonna drag out longer than the summer.

You're right, they probably are being optimistic. But even if they're not and artists are able to tour September - December this year, the touring schedule is going to be so congested, and are people going to be able to afford it?

This would straight up be the most infuriating festival on the planet, for me.

Imagine spending 3 or 4 days in a field with intolerably posh, rich people 'letting their hair down' 🤮

Imagine the conversations you'd hear from other tents? "oh Harriet, can you please pass me that murrraaaahhh, i want to do a line of MD"

The fact that scumbag David Cameron has been spotted there speaks for itself.

I really, really hope it goes bust or something similarly catastrophic. Then again, we dont really need more posh, rich people going to Glastonbury do we.....

    Who hurt you?

Although we're not going this year I do love this festival and support what they do - but this (the repetition in the line ups) seems to be a real problem for them now.  It may still turn out to be a great line up (and I know they do suffer from being low on the pecking order when it comes to being able to announce things) but it is looking a bit tired at this stage and still can't see it adding up in terms of the higher capacity at higher prices.

I'd assumed the rise in capacity was because they wanted to start booking bigger bands and not be so low down the pecking order. They're main competition would likely be Arctangent (which is a bit more niche) and Slam Dunk (who let's be honest, are smashing it) and they aren't really anywhere near Slam Dunk, in terms of consistency of the line up. I love a lot of the bands on the undercard, but they need to stop filling it out with bands you could see two or three times a year in 100-400 capacity venues.
