  1. Bridge is open for VIP but only in one direction! And there was hardly any one there. Madness, expand to a new area and make it difficult to get there and back. Was much better in earlier years when it was more accessible! It’s looking like more like sabotage than incompetence, almost funny at this point
  2. Hard to argue that VIP is any better than the normal ticket, and it’s possibly even worse. Sound at the Binance area was crap, at least during SVE, since they turned the stage. VIP area at Mordor is now a considerable distance from the stage, view is much better in front of VIP than actually in it, and the drinks situation was insulting. Guy in front of me went for drinks, got back more than a half an hour later. Same drinks problems at Binance. To add insult to injury, the drinks ‘credit’ is as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike, since the bars don’t take it. In a single day, Primavera has taken all the goodwill that’s been built up over the years, and pissed it up the wall.
  3. Pavement made up for a lot of shit. But most of the shit was self-inflicted by the festival. They decided to break almost everything that worked so well in the past.
  4. Stop what you’re doing and get to Ouigo, Gustav are awesome
  5. Is it just me, or is the sound from the vip area to the side of Binance really shit?
  6. Restaurant tip: Arume in Raval, close to Sant Antoni market. Went last night, absolutely delicious.
  7. Lot of space inside still. Hard to believe after the last few years, but it’s actually happening.
  8. Thanks. It’s not really ‘back’, family is in London, we live in Amsterdam, so it makes little difference at this stage where we travel from.
  9. Fuck. Mother-in-law died in the night and we only found out just before getting on the plane. (Not a surprise, just the timing.) Now in Barca but need to think about travel to UK for the funeral.
  10. Yes! Listened earlier today, good Bikini Kill/Sleater Kinney vibes.
  11. Or anywhere else for that matter?
  12. Don't think this is a Brexit problem. At Schiphol it's more to do with personnel shortages, and I'd imagine similar elsewhere.
  13. Same with Schiphol, been like that for a few weeks now. Got so bad a fight broke out between passengers and staff last Sunday night. Not looking forward to Wednesday morning.
  14. We are? I can see shitloads of great bands there, and loads of other bands that I don't know and I'm looking forward to. First Primavera I went to (2014) was partly on the basis of headliners like Pixies and Nine Inch Nails, who I love. Didn't see them, watched other great stuff instead, had a ball. Your milage may vary, but Primavera is filled with too many riches to focus just on the headliners, or let them define your festival. Said this last week and I'll say it again: don't plan too much, don't micro-manage, take things as they come. The timetable we got last week isn't the timetable right now and won't be the timetable on Thursday. Accept the clashes, accept the cancellations, and let yourself be surprised, since the surprises are usually the best bit.
  15. Just to confirm: no queuing to exchange tickets, no wristbands, it's all done through the app now?
  16. Same here. I'd rather have my money back than the paltry VIP benefits we're getting.
  17. Should really be called the FMH ticket instead - Fuck Me Harder. The VIP pricing for the second weekend was extortionate, and the experience this year looks like it'll be worse than expected. There used to be a nice early bird discount to attract previous VIP holders to go VIP again, but if this is the direction Primavera is going, then that's the last.
  18. We might need to come up with a new name now they're grassing it over. Don't remember Frodo and Sam crossing plains of astroturf.
  19. I'm a bit in the same boat. Love them, but the last album hasn't grabbed me at all. In addition, the first time I saw them was Primavera years ago, and it was a pretty crappy gig. Might have been the audience, but what's being reported about the current tour doesn't bode well.
  20. We'll see. I'm expecting more mixups/fuckups this time round. A few months back someone posted that the festival was seriously late in receiving setup information from the bands, so I don't think that's helping.
  21. Is no-one considering the fact that there's still a lot of uncertainty regarding the bands themselves, and how their timetabling works? First big festival and first big tour in god knows how long for almost every band that's out there. Everyone - including the festival - wants stuff settled, but I can pretty much guarantee that whatever the timetable might be right now is going to look different in two weeks time. Trying to micro-manage everything at this point is a mug's game.
  22. People are getting a bit overdramatic, the timetable is a nice-to-have right now, but in all honesty it makes little difference whether it gets released today, tomorrow, or the day before bands start playing.
  23. The headliners basically never clash with each other, the main problems are the clashes with and between the undercard acts.
  24. At least two pairs, shoes/trainers need time to recover as much as your feet do.
