Yes mate. Such a Great dress maker. I love the craft fields and the healing fields / science fields as much as any band / set

They're very old friends of mine. Her dresses, although not cheap, are incredible .

They're a lovely family, who live like they were at Glastonbury all year round. A lot of folks in the craft field are basically just doing what they do all year round.

Glad you bought from her, your wives dress is unique.

I went insane for a day and purchased a dress for my amazing wife that was way more than I should have spent. From a fantastic lady in the craft field. I cry a bit each time Iook at it as it's incredible

Would that have been from Nimpy clothing, her partner was doing Shamanic drum making workshops.

Don’t the festival have things in place to monitor these things ? Cameras etc and people on the ground ? Emily has already said that wet leg were wrongly placed and that’s an acknowledgment of issues and not them turning a blind eye … ?! It’s not in their interests to ignore such things

There are cameras and people on the ground observing and reporting back. There is a large control centre in one of the barns, staffed by some of the UK's leading experts in crowd movement, control and management.

Contrast this with the early 90's were people were literally driving vans into crowds to sit on top of them to watch bands.

I quite like it when it rains, it sorts the wheat from the chaff. Its brilliant when you see a group of girls who are at Glastonbury due to a supposed 'bucket list' packing up their heels, garlands and specially bought clothes that they assume makes them look a bit edgy, and ruefully asking the nearest bouncer where the exit is and where they might be able to find their car. Particularly when its Friday morning, or earlier. Following a wet year you tend to see far less rubberneckers and general people that watched Glastonbury on the BBC the year before and thought it looked one hell of a hoot, that in my opinion make Glastonbury a far less fantastic place.

A liitle rain everyday is good to damp down the dust. While I agree that something that gets rid of the bucket listers/should be at Reading or Leeds types is good, I hate any serious amount of rain.

    Beans on Toast

The only place Beans on Toast should be playing is round a campfire with his mates, that's his level. Slightly amusing to piss up people, but ultimately not very good.

It wouldn't surprise me if crew were blagging extra wristbands for people who they didn't really need. I find it amazing that Glasto needed an extra 7k staff for just an extra 3k attendees. Seems a bit like overkill if anything.

The bands that the bars give out aren't festival bands they're their own, often just flimsey paper ones. But it is possible to make yourself look official with a couple of these bar bands.

I think you got it the wrong way round, I think it's an extra 7000 attendees and 3000 staff.

I've heard more about crew bars this year on eFests than ever before. Am I being a total n00b, or are crew bars as described, for crew only? Are they off the main strips and forbidden for non-crew attendees?

Basically yes they are forbidden to non-crew. However the crew bars in the SE corner give out their own wristbands up until the Tuesday before the event. Because you can enter a lot of these bars with any crew wristband, people end up with spare bar bands which they can give to none crew mates.

All of the crew bars in the SE corner (except for one, which is very hard to get into) can be acessed from a public area, as can the Arcadia crew bar.

    Skrillex, Bugg, Massive Attack

Portishead, Chase & Status, The XX

    Primal Scream, Chems, QOTSA

    Lips, PSB, Orbital

It's like a who's who of never quite made it.

Hang on, I've just checked the Pyramid subs. It's exactly the same. Both are a kiss of death.

Absolute nonsense. Those I've bolded have all been massive at some point. Just everyone in the country can name a PSB tune and most can sing a long. New Order produced the biggest selling dance single of all time, one that will always fill a floor.

Looks like you're one of those types that live under a bridge.

This was one I was interested in listening to. What did they play?

Just about DnB after a fashion, but certainly not Jungle. I was around when Jungle first appeared, I not sure many actually know what it is, most call DnB Jungle.

Does anyone know if sets at Arcadia, Sonic etc are recorded and where they can be found?

Don't know, but the Carl Cox bnb Chase and Status Jungle set wasn't Jungle.

Depends what "bigger" means? Biggest crowd or best gig? They aren't really comparable, they are different audiences, the Other headliner will be hip and trendy with the cool kids, the Pyramid sub will normally be a crowd pleaser (National excepted!). Elbow have subbed Pyramid god knows how many times, but they would get a really small crowd I think if they headlined Other. I think it's also to do with the time of day, a Pyramid sub will have the sun starting to go down, the Other headliner will mainly be in the dark which dictates the sort of acts who will work at each

Not sure LCD Sound System, PSB, Chemical Brothers and New Order are hip and trendy with the cool kids, but then what would I know I'm neither a kid or cool.

Agree about the crowd pleaser about Pyramid sub (in general). Re Elbow, dreadful and Guy Garvey has to one of the most boring and annoying musicians out there, he's also arguably 6 musics worst.

Sam Fender smashed the granny out of it this year.

Noel had 100k people (minus Calgon) doing karaoke.

That's nothing to do with the talent or ability of the artists. It's down to the sheep like nature of the crowd.

Like how you wrote smashed the granny out of it , as their the only people I can see liking Sam Fender.

Noel Gallaghers’s midget eyebrow men were subs on the pyramid, but if they were headlining the Other you’d have heard the moaning from space. Its a slot for meh bands, the pyramid sub, not for actual excitement.

(Nb - I haven’t seen an Other headliner for yonks, whenever it was skrillex headlined - 2016? Maybe?

Best Pyramid sub I remember seeing was Amy Winehouse, but in general I agree.
