That's left a really sour taste in my mouth. I'm a real fan of this year's lineup and after Healy's recent behaviour I can't help but feel like that's a dampener on it.

And yes I'm being serious, I know the lineup isn't to everyone's taste and that's fine. But booking them to headline two years in a row is pathetic

What’s this “behaviour”? I’m out of the loop

Normal rules don't apply in the weej. The biggest act in the world right now in the weej is Gerry Cinnamon.

And some are hypothesising that Cinnamon might well headline TRNSMT next year and if he does so, that day will sell out in minutes.

Fairly well nailed on for Leads / Reading mate . Do we ever share acts ?

Kasabian last year IIRC. Travis Scott headlined Beni and subbed Reading this year. Both are festival republic so not a surprise if there’s some sharing going on.

  4. Thursday: Pale Waves, Dua Lipa, LANA DEL REY, Hannah Wants (VISA headline: Mabel)

Friday: Kodaline, LOS PLANETAS, THE 1975, Galantis (VISA headline: Slaves)

Saturday: Circa Waves, Blossoms, ARCTIC MONKEYS, Armin Van Buuren (VISA headline: Wretch 32)

Sunday: The Coral, The Wombats, PANIC! AT THE DISCO, Example (VISA headline: Tom Grennan)

No the guy picked out some bad indie bands and said they were too 'V Festival' for this, but this is a festival that has loads of the indie bands who used to play V Fest so it was a poor shout. It's run by the same people as V Fest so it's a pretty easy thread to follow.

And it barely needs mentioning but you're not obviously not gonna see Noel Gallagher or Starsailor or The Coral at Community so that's a crap comparison.

The only difference between them is that Community is almost entirely populated by dark fruits acts whereas neighbourhood weekender is 100% dark fruits

Yeah I think they would probably sub. Was just wondering if there was any different perspective locally regarding them. Guess you'd know if there was. :P

This is essentially V Festival without the mainstream pop, rap and dance acts.

So absolutely nothing like V, then?

The most similar festival to this is London’s community festival IMO.

Seems most likely to me. Why would they only want to advertise the announcement to people who voted for the specific act(s) being announced?

But then again I just saw on twitter that it literally says “one of the artists you voted for will be at FIB2019 in the email”

Something doesn’t quite add up here.

  8. I’m now wondering if the “your fault” thing is aimed at everyone who voted in the poll rather than the specific recipient of the email.

I reckon the emails are being sent out either at random, or to everyone who bought a ticket, and the band that will be announced are the band that topped the poll, but the emails aren’t necessarily going to those who voted for that particular band

Massive in the north of England, big in Scotland, popular in the Midlands/South/Ireland, but still pretty much unheard of in Spain.  I think the last time they played any gig Spain, other than FIB, was small club gigs in Barca/Madrid in about 2011/12.  As such, they definitely wouldn't headline, but would make a decent main stage sub/support on Fri/Sat/Sun night.  But then again, maybe 2019 is too soon a return for them, as they played Beni last year, didn't they?  Always go down really well though at Beni, as such a great live act.

Does it matter how popular they are in Spain? This festival is like 99% Brits/Irish abroad

Looking at that 'ere prospective clashfinder, is there a 10PM curfew or something for this malarkey?

Last two years have both been 9:45pm finishes, including 2017 which was on a Saturday. Probably something to do with Haringey council being twats (see wireless thread)

  11. FR’s community in London two weeks before Beni is announcing tomorrow, would not be a bit surprised if there is crossover given that community’s top 2 from this year and last year’s headliner all played Beni, also Slaves played third down last year and were at Beni last year.

The Kooks, The Amazons and Blossoms have already self confirmed on twitter for community so we can speculate certainly on Blossoms and The Amazons for Beni (Kooks played this year of course)

  12. Foals and Royal Blood are both too big for this but then bands like Wolf Alice aren’t big enough, it’s where to strike the balance. Catfish are talked about as the best indie band at the moment and some think TDCC are a future Reading co-headline, so that’s the sort of size we are looking at.

Courteeners are too small down South, The Wombats are probably the perfect size for this but played only two years ago as the sub, if anything I’d put money on them to headline this in 2020. Sort of brings me back to wolf alice but are they big enough to sell 40,000 tickets at Finsbury?
