So, thinking of making this my Glasto Replacement Festival this year. I notice information is a little thinner on the ground for this fest. Regarding camping; this is one of the biggest talking points / decisions at Glastonbury - is there anything approaching the same level of planning required at Green Man? Which camping ground? Which car park? How far from car park to camping spot? How far from camping spot to arena? Does anywhere flood? How large a tent to take? Etc.

I debuted my Fresh 'n' Black tent at Glastonbury this year, but was thinking of taking a large 4 men tent to share with my girlfriend to Green Man. I figured if we were close to the car, and there's lot of space for camping (as opposed to Glasto) then me might be able to travel in a little more style and comfort this year, with warming tent carpets, a living area, porch etc. Especially as we wouldn't need to take as much booze (due to it being forbidden in the arena).

What are your experiences with camping at Green Man?

We've always camped close to the main stage (2 minute walk) and there has always been plenty of space, but to get close with a 4 man you should get there early on the Thursday. There are a couple of hills to negotiate back to the Orange Car Park (15 (ish) minute walk), but nothing too taxing.

You are not meant to, but no one stops you taking alcohol in. I have only been asked once to decant my can into a cup as I was in a bar. If you don't want to carry it then they have 100 welsh ales in the beer tent.

And it will definitely rain for at least 75% of the festival.

Only a week until tickets and line-up drop!

Was thinking today that Tune-Yards seem like a good fit to show up somewhere on the bill.

Yes - seen them twice at EotR; but unsure if they have played Green Man.

There are a few bands with things out today that I think could be there (atleast according to my Spotify Release Radar),

    Lucy Dacus

    Eels

    Gengahr

    Gwenno

    Hinds (again)

    Lucius

    Tune-Yards

    Young Fathers

  3. PS could have X band booked - and then looked through the applicants to see who is a fan of X band - knowing they will be excited.

There are lots of smaller bands that I would be pumped for; so you are right it isn't necessarily Kendrick Lamar, Daft Punk or David Bowie

Just saw this on twitter too:

A good campaign... I think they’ll do some kind of audio/ visual campaign. One time only viewing of the line up? Impossible to stop screenshots though I guess...

Maybe a clue with the “can I see it again” quote at the end, also “this is a poster” as opposed to what’s on the billboards Gabi posted on Twitter.

    Roll on the speculation

new stage on the beach, will have daytime gigs that have been in city centre in other years

NO to Pearl Jam, Pavement, Jane's Addiction, Roni Size.

The daytime gigs were my favourite thing this year - so not sure how I feel about the stage being out of town - even if it is on a beach.

Thanks all for the updates though.

    Prices:

    Friday + Sat = £126
    Sat + Sun = £126
    Three days = £186
    One day = £66

    All from DICE

Considering that this does not include camping and so you will be paying for at least extra travel, beers and daily security checks isn't this quite alot?

Very excited about the lineup but going to hope that the rumours are true and Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Lorde and Beck play Primavera as well.

Haven't had time to look at it properly, but I think I've almost completely missed big clashes. Happy days.

Kate Tempest v Pumarosa and Big Moon v Stevie Parker are frustrating for me.

Does anyone see any gaps for secret shows?

  9. My highlight were the stages in town. Great setting and music; Playback Maracas (honestly had to check that they were not Daft Punk), Muñeco, About Leaving and Muñeco were fantastic.

Also - conspiracy theory - Frank Oceans name is missing from the merch I bought as is Jamie xx. It could be that they were printed the day or two between the announcements, but as it was only a week before the festival does that seem strange?
