This will be my first Glasto and I'm really hoping for the following:

    Honey Dijon

    Gesaffelstein

    Claude VonStroke

    Justin Jay

    Ross From Friends

Does anyone know if Honey Dijon has played before? She's got to be a shout for downlow although imagine the queues

Lunchtime on the Janelle day pls:

New find for me off the back of your comment above - just wanted to say thanks for the recommendation! She's great and a WH afternoon slot would be amazing

  3. See I thought CG was maybe bigger over here than he is. Would absolutely love to see him on the line up but was sceptical about him playing a sub spot. Just had a look though and you can still buy tickets for his UK O2 dates (admittedly seated only, but still), so maybe he's not as big over here as I thought and could make sense as a sub.

The Coachella booking could support the idea of him subbing pyramid but my gut feeling is that one won't influence the other too much...

Nope, i don't have an example cos nothing's coming to mind.

I definitely don't work on the basis that I'm the arbiter of taste, tho I do like to think there's a difference between artistic-musical-merit & catchy-as-product.

I think this is maybe where, imo, you're missing the point about Ariana. I'm not particularly a fan but regardless of whether or not you reduce her songs to "catchy pop" if you listen to her sing live you'd be hard pushed to deny that she has real talent and a voice that's arguably one of the strongest out there.

Yes her fanbase is typically young but as someone on here said earlier, she's slap bang in the middle of the zeitgeist and actually when she speaks out what she says resonates with a lot of people. I actually think she'd be a really smart booking. Insane voice, catchy music that a huge amount of people like, and at the pinnacle of the "strong independent woman/girl boss" etc. movement that's got huge momentum at the moment. I don't get what the festival would lose by booking her?

Yeah they're both fair points. I would agree about Orbital if it wasn't for Neil having heard they're playing. No idea where that leaves Jon Hopkins though, seems an obvious choice to play but I'm not sure where.

Sunday potentially? JH surely got to be there at some point

Seconded.  If she's not already too big by that point.

This would be great but I wonder if she's big enough already to play an early Pyramid slot?

Joe Talbot from Idles on BBC 6Music just now saying he'd like to play the Park Stage (on Friday, I think he said) just as the sun goes down.

    I'd be there.

I can see Idles playing the "Rattlesnakes" slot from 2017. JP late Sunday afternoon, absolutely cracking

  8. Hi!

This year will be my third Glastonbury and the one I'm possibly the most excited for. The first year I worked the festival and absolutely fell in love with it, and last year I had to beg borrow and steal to get the time off to attend. This year I'm going with my family, boyfriend and a big group of friends. The family are all first timers so I can't wait to see their faces.

I'm an embarrassingly long time lurker, I have a super stressful job so I chill on the commute every day by reading this forum and imagining myself back on the Farm

    See you all there!
